Default Edwin Valero To Face WBA Champion!

Hard-Hitting Edwin Valero 19-0(19) is slated to face WBA Super featherweight Champion Vicente Mosquera. Valero is known for his many consecutive first round knock outs and so far that has been his trademark with the exception of one second round knock out. Is this too soon for Valero? I cant see him knocking Mosquera out in the first round and seeing as he has never gone any kind of distance he may be in for some serious trouble against the champ.

    Awesome.

I want to see if this kid can contend & live up to the hype.

I've seen only clips here & there.

He's obviously powerful and talented athletically but his technique looks all over the shop. His power shots-especially the right hooks- are so wide that it's hard to imagine a top class fighter not being able to counter them. I'd like to see the sparring footage were he was alleged to have handled Morales.

Mosquera stops Valero in 5 rounds. The jump from fighting D level fighters to Championship fight would be to great for Valero to handle. His lack of quality fighters faced will be his downfall

I've seen quite a few clips on Valero and I tell you,the boy has alot of boxing skills,it's just thathe's been koing these bums early on,I hope he not forgotten how to actually box! You guys must have seen when he shook Erik Morales to his boots and just outclassed him in sparring? Also,Doug Fischer is super hot on him too and that guy knows his stuff!

Nope..you guys know all that I know except that I'm just making a call right now. I think Valeros power is natural, he has nothing to prove he just goes in there and does his thing. The only way someone will beat Valero is by attacking his body and taking away some power from his punches early on. I don't think Mosquera can do that.

I agree and disagree. If this fight goes past 4 Valero will lose. Valero NEEDS to stop him early to win imo

I would have to agree with you BoomBoom. Valero wont have the stamina to win the fight past 4rnds. He just hasnt had any actual fight rounds to be able to handle a long hard fight. Even if he did "school" Morales it was SPARRING it dont mean a thing. You can never till how serious one fighter is taking the session compared to the other.

    Hate to get on my

But we are asking a fighter with one completed round in pro boxing, and a condition that is considered so severe, he does not get a licence to box in any country, with anything resembling a decent boxing commission; to go up against a fighter with more pro experience in last pro fight, than Valero has ever had?

I thought this was suppose to be the 21st century, not the 19th...

Which Erik Morales, the one that fought Barerra (3rd time) Pacquiao and Raheem and Pacquiao or the Morales that fought Velardez and Carlos hernandez ?
