    Default Bernard Hopkins Legacy

I do not know how to judge Bernard Hopkins legacy. His two career defining victories were against two future hall of famers in Trinidad and De La Hoya and they both came in his mid to late 30's. Without a doubt this man is a HOF and one of the greatest boxers of all time but how can a athlete specially in the sport of boxing reach his peak at such an old age. Prior to the Trinidad fight his performances were solid defending his title many times but they were nothing special and then he fights Tito and gives a perferct performance after being a 3-1 underdog. At first I thought steriods, but years after the fight his still fighting like he is in his mid twenties, I have to say I don't know how to compare him with other great MW such as Hagler, Hearns, etc. Does anybody think this man is taking illegal supplements.

Another thing is why do most boxing fans give Oscar the excuse of being smaller than Hopkins in the loss but they do not give Trinidad the same excuse, Trinidad was a blown up Welterweight.

He is a legacy of being one of the 5 greatest Middleweights of all time bar none

His legacy is already written. These last fights have just been icing.

exacly ...I normally wipe the last 3 fights of a fighters career and look at the past body of work....20 title defences = HOF... winning this last one will only add to his legacy..
It feels good to be back home.
