Audley Harrison returns to the ring!
    Rick Scharmberg at the Scales
Tonight’s ESPN2 Friday Night Fights features heavyweight contender Brian Minto (24-2, 14 KOs) against challenger Danny Batchelder (24-1-1, 11 KOs) in the main event. In the co-main event, the crowd-pleasing jr middleweight Harry Yorgey (14-0, 8 KOs) battles Ronnie Warrior, Jr. (11-1-1, 3 KOs). The televised swing bout showcases lightweight prospect Pat Lopez (6-0, 6 KOs) against veteran Armando Cordoba (21-22-1, 6 KOs). In a non-televised bout, 2000 Gold Medalist Audley Harrison (19-2, 14 KOs) hopes to get a win against journeyman Andrew Geeeley (11-12-2, 7 KOs). The once-highly regarded British Olympian has suffered back-to-back losses to Danny Williams (Dec 2005) and Dominick Guinn (April 2006). Five more bouts are scheduled. Doors open at 6pm and the action begins at 7pm. Tickets are priced at $150 for Golden Ringside, $75, $50 or $35, and are available at the Tropicana box office. The “Rumble at the Trop” is promoted by Dino Duva of Duva Boxing in association with Star Boxing.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below are the official weights for the tonight’s participants:

Brian Minton 212 vs. Danny Batchelder 208
Harry Yorgey 153 vs. Ronnie Warrior, Jr. 151
Audley Harrison 248 vs. Andrew Greeley 228
Vinnie Maddalone 234 vs. Dan Whetzel 224 1/2
Malachy Farrell 232 vs. Rick Zufall 234
Joe Park 165 vs. Lajuan Simon 166 1/2
Santiago Hillario 176 vs. Chuck Mussachio 172
Pat Lopez 136 1/2 vs. Armando Cordoba 137
Raymond Biggs 146 vs. Gerald Jordan 145

I really hope McGirt has trained Harrison to be his best, he won't be in Audley's corner tonight though, so expect a letdown.

lighter Harrison = less of him to dislike.

Did you see that fightbeat video? talk about excuses... His camp wasn't 100% so he couldn't beat a short fat out of shape and uncoditioned Danny Williams...
