    Default Hopkins Calzaghe anyone?

After Hopkins did to Tarver what Joe to Jeff Lacy do you think a final mega showdown between the two could take place in the Autumn?

I know Bernard has said he has retired, although he's already hinted that if the money is right he will be back.

Neither Joe or Bernard have much time left and it could be a great swansong for both fighters.

A win for Hopkins would elevate him above Roy Jones as the greatest fighter of the past 15 years and a win for Joe would confirm him as the best fighter Britain ever produced.

I reckon it has to happen!

I don't see it happening,I don't know why,you know, just gut instincts and will JC's hand be better by then?? I'd like to see it though and I think JC's pace would be too much for B Hop.

Bernard is to disciplined and focused to be lured out...

He just had an historical night and has done what few have been able to do and leave on top and THE UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!!! Doing it his way....LADIES AND GENTLEMAN....BERNARD HAS JUST LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for leaving us wanting more

I wanted to see Calzaghe/Hopkins over this Tarver mismatch anyway, but would understand if Bernard retired. It's a possible match, they're both still in great shape.

I don't think it will....B-HOP said he wanted to go out on top and do what SRR failed to do....he did it and now he is off into the sunset....B-HOP HOF bound...

I'm sorry but Hopkins is done. Hopkins should go out on top. Tarver wasn't doing anything last night. Hopkins didn't throw combos, he was still throwing single punches. He just looked good by comparision. JoeCal is gonna be 3 times more active than Tarver. To beat JoeCal, we are gonna need the Hopkins that pounded Felix into submission with his three - four punch combos. Hopkins hasn't fought like that since Trinidad. JoeCal would force Hopkins to trade a hell of a lot more. Hopkins should leave now. That's it.

the "done" as you put it sounds a bit harsh....you don't retire on the top of your game when your done...you retire because you were beaten convincingly or KTFO......none of this has happened to B-HOP...he is retiring after a superb performance and with his health completely intact....who's to say Joe Cal doesn't break his hand Again? even before the fall...for all we know Joe C is done...his body is breaking down as well...

as far a title defences and this last win I would have to agree with you...but as far as press coverage Jones had them eating out of the palm of his hand....and most people just see the print and don't bother to look at the master painting created by B-HOP.... but the real fight fans know the deal.... and that's what counts...
