Default Tyson Vrs orlin Norris interesting pos tprime another losss?

orlin was a good defensive fighter, I had never seen him fight tyson just heard about the injury he had, tyson did (as usual blast him after the bell) Orlin had a great first round tyson hurt not at all, i think this might have been another past prime tyson loss had it gone on, I also fin it kind of funny how tyson criticised orlin for quitting, as tyson did the same thing against williams.

Norris tasted the power, got scared, got hit after the bell, and went down like a sack of potatoes. Guy was just looking for a way out. Least he did it in a more respectable fashion than Andrew Golota.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

exaclty ...couldn't agree with you more....he got a taste of Tyson's power and started looking for the exits immediately afterward.....That hit just gave him the excuse and afforded him a way to try to save face....

...I just think it's so sad how Tyson became a 1 punch guy after he got rid of Rooney. He used to put combo's together so well but then he just seemed happy to throw one punch at a time and get tied up on the inside.

Otherwise his fights with Evander would have been GREAT

that was his downfall...he got rid of Rooney, Freddie Roach, Teddy Atlas...this man had the greatest trainers/corner men ever.....but he got lured over to the dark side and lost everything....he left people that actually cared/loved him for people that called him a "sellout" and that he should be with like people....it was and is the biggest boxing travesty in my lifetime.....he would still be champ today had he not done that....

Funny how when tyson hurt his foot against williams it was legit, after all tyson did not blasted after the bell, granted norris should have been prepared as tyson does it all the time, but could you imagine evander holyfield quitting over an injured ankle Tyson sure as hell did while orllin did quit orlin I belive was way past his best, and I think he could have given tyson some trouble even a prime one, Id think hed eventually lose but I think hed give a good showing he had a strong chin

Sorry i think you guys are sucking tyson $@#!@#, he clearly hit him after the bell, tyson did not overwhelm orlin at all, tyson still sucked at this point albeit not as bad as against lennox and mcbride, he did nothing to show mw that he hurt orlin, I mthink orlin really hurt his ankle , I think tyson was full of s h i t against williams tyson has no character. had that fight gone on I think orlin would have caused mike to quit, quit was always with mike even after his skill eroded, i think in trouble in his prime he would have menatlly quit like atlas said, given in to a silent contract, if you look at greaT FIGHTERS past their prime ali, holyfield, skills are gone but the quit and will never waivered, tyson Im sorry to say I know have doubts

Maybe because Norris didn't need surgery Matter of fact, he instantly healed once he went backstage

Norris' injury wasn't an injury its about as legit as Camacho Jr's "I can't see" excuse

Mike's injury was legit.. because he couldn't walk and was wheelchaired around Norris was walking around jumping around and looking at his paycheck. He was looking for a way out after he tasted Mike's power

Are you being serious, or just trying to wind people up? Norris s**t himself and used the blow after the bell and a supposed hurt ankle to get out of being knocked out by Tyson. Tyson (Back then) was way too much for a limited Orlin Norris.. End of.

Totally missing my point, Im not saying a prime tyson would not have beaten norris, what Im saying is in no way was he over whelming orlin, orlin in his younger years he was quite up there in age was a exceptional defensive fighter, he gave me no indication that he was looking for a way out by his body language, andrew golota on the other hand did. I dont belive the bs that mike could not continue with his ankle either.... he quit against mcbride as well mysterious, your will is the last thing to go, your skills go your reflexes but take a look at any great fighter his heart lasts till the end, zI think mike had supernatural skills in his prime but i hate to say it being the biggest tyson fan.. i think lthere is an element of truth in what atlas said, mike when confronted made silent contracts, he even his prime had he been confronyted may have mentally given up. What people fail to realize is that tyson was defensive as much as offensive he did not like to be hit, he took a good shot and was compact but stuns easily. Mike agaisnt another puncher in his prime may have been different, holy was not a big hitter lennox was a boxer puncher, I fear riddick bowe on the night he took the title from holy may have beaten a younger mike

I love how you guys just come to the conclusion that he quit, when your 37 its easy to twist something especuilly when you get hit with a cheap shot from hard hitter or the hardest hitter ever in tyson unexpectdly, you guys are being a bit rough here, i understand im sur eif that was evander holyfield hed have come out but who knows how well youd farre injured gainst tyson, norris however should have been prepared for the shot after the bell as tyson has done it his whole career, i still give orlin credit i thought he fiought a good round up until the point he got koed , serously though listen to cyz say olrin aint going no where he can easily go 10, orlin had a great chin guys, and really was a very underated fighter. Oh yeah you can argue that he tasted the power, but mm.... after the bell and by suprise, im sure he was also a little hurt as tyson hits and hurts you with shots you see let alone ones you arent prepared for flush on the chin

I don't think i'm missing the point. My point is That Tyson (Prime or no Prime) would beat Orlin Norris with minimum fuss and had the actual fight with Norris not been stopped the way it was Tyson would have went on to knock him out early anyway.
You say that Tyson did not like being hit, well i'm not sure that many fighters do like being hit, it's an obvious part of the sport.
I don't think that Tyson lacked heart.. Obviously his skills diminished in the later years, but i think that his determination diminished just as readily. To my immediate knowledge Tyson gave what he could when he fought McBride, he just didn't have enough anymore. In fact in his post fight comments Tyson said, 'If i can't beat McBride i Can't beat Junior Jones.' He couldn't have been more honest than that, but although Tyson seemed to quit, i don't agree with the opinion that he lacked heart. He lacked a love for the sport and the skill that he once had, simple as that.
You watch Tyson's fight with Douglas, Holyfield 1, and Lennox Lewis. 3 fights that he obviously lost. Just do me a favour and watch those fights again and then come back and tell me that Tyson lacked heart, and that you're his biggest fan! BS.

it just goes to show....a great trainer can make a good fighter great but a bad trainer can make a great fighter average.....that is a travesty....

It wasn't just the trainers. Once Mike was with Don he was inactive and didn't stay sharp. Look how often he fought before, the Spinks fight, then look after, huge difference because of Don.
