    Default tarver vs hopkins

why was it so easy for hopkins to defeat tarver even though he is two weights above him, tarver was the one who looked tired from the second round onwards

Just think Tarver had no way of dealing with Hopkins. Hopkins has a superb defence and his bursts of attack were superb not allowing Tarver into the fight. It was down to the speed and Hopkins looked in superb shape, not looking out of place against Tarver size wise. Tarver I always have felt is overrated or perhaps it was just a bit of an off night for him. But most credit goes to Hopkins who was simply superb and a true boxing legend.

Let me tell you ! Anytime you are 215 plus pounds which Tarver was for this Rocky movie he‘s starring in , and then lose that 40 - 50 some odd lbs to get to 175, in a few months you are in troubles , big troubles, its called leaving it in the gym, by the time you get in the ring you are flat out tired and spent ! Same type thing happened Roy Jones. He was never the same after he come down ! Its called yo-yo.. You spend all your training time losing weight rather then working on a game plan preparing for your opponent. So thus your flat. it’s a good idea to stay within a healthy margin of your fighting weight in between fights.
