    Default JT's next fight.

    http://doghouseboxing.com/Chee/Chee_0622c06.htm

No one can deny, Jermain Taylor has had a very tough schedule with his last 3 fights. Two tough fights with Bernard Hopkins and another grueling night this past weekend against Winky Wright. After three tough bouts, middleweight champion Jermain Taylor will face an easier opponent in front of a hometown crowd.

Taylor's Promoter, Lou DiBella said Taylor's next defense will be at the North Little Rock's Alltel Arena in October or November. Although DiBella did not mention any names, Dibella was quoted by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette as
saying about Taylor's next assignment: "straight-ahead fighter where Jermain can showcase his offensive skills."

The associated press states that DiBella said Taylor won't fight a rematch anytime soon against Winky Wright.

DiBella has kept his cool about Taylor's draw this past weekend. Although DiBella strongly believes his fighter won, he shows great sportsmanship by not arguing about the Draw.

As quoted by the AP, DiBella said: "You can debate about whether he lost the fight by a point or won the fight by a point or two, but the judges had it as a draw.We have no argument with that, and Jermain Taylor is still champion."

Taylor was also quoted by the AP, saying: "It's always something with me, isn't it? It's always close fights. Now I just feel like I have to prove myself in the next fight."

Source of Quotes: Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Asscociated Press.

cc for the article. I dont think Taylor will ever be able to fully win over the fans. No matter who the next opponent is if he looks great against it was because the opponent was hand picked. If he looks average or worse then he loses crediability (depending on the opponent deservedly). He already has fought the two best p4p at 160, the only thing left for him to do now is to unify.

CC back bossman.Hmm,I agree Taylor will find it hard to impress but then again,he has in my opinion won his last 3 fights,2(or maybe even all 3)decisions being questionable!I'd like to see him unify and I do like JT,he's like a superstar in the making, someone the common fan will know but I just think he looks sloppy at times and I can't believe that he still has his 0 intact.
Other than that,he gets massive credit from me for taking those 3 fights,he did not have take B Hop the second time or Winky and he made them all competetive too.I think he deserves an easy fight, not many can deny that!

i don't think Taylor has won any of his last 3 fights, the first B-Hop fight i thought was a draw, 2nd i felt Hopkins won, and i thought the Wink pulled out the win when Taylor didn't do much to win the last round

I would disagree on that. I thought the first fight with B-hop was a draw and Taylor won the second. I had Winky winning their fight, and I didnt think either fighter did anything to win the 12th. I think the impressive thing with Taylor is like The Game said, he kept all three fights competitive. Which I feel that since Taylor is still has a lot to learn in the ring he is doing fine.

Jermain Taylor will not prove anything against a punching bag with arms in his next fight He's the Middleweight champ if he wants to carry the same he needs to fight the next tough guy out there, you fight the best and if the best is busy you fight the person right under the best. That said Jermain will probably fight someone like Howard Eastman in his next fight

what else does TAylor really have to prove ? All he needs to prove is that he can hone up his technical skills and get better . and possibly get a rematch with Winky in the future

[/quote]Yeah...it was the same when Holmes beat the Shat out of Ali....people never forgave Holmes for that and it followed him throughout his career.......I like Taylor as a fighter, I love B-HOP and Winky, but Taylor cannot control what the judges see......I think he will become a great champion if he stays at 160 fighting the likes of Sturm.....
It feels good to be back home.

Good point bigragu. Think Taylor has had three massive fights and whether or not any of us think he won them or not they were all close fights and it's not Taylors fault what the judges decide. It's fair enough Taylor is going for an easier fight next and no one can grudge him that.

So basically Lou is going to showcase JT's offensive skills in his next fight? Why not say "We are fighting a bum?" Oh he can't showcase against the best because he can't beat the best.

wouldn't be so sure about that... the middleweight division and the super Middleweight division may be one of the premiere divisions
