    Default Macca welcomes Haye's challenge

Enzo Maccarinelli has welcomed David Haye's suggestion that he is still keen to meet him in a unification bout.

If Haye is seriously considering this then there must have been a huge amount of money offered to him because it seems a huge risk to take for him right now having already claimed the top spot at cruiserweight and got himself into a good position to challenge for a heavyweight title. I would honestly see Enzo as more of a danger to Haye than just about anyone in the Heavyweights right now, especially with his well known struggles to make the 200lb limit. I can understand why Enzo wants this so much and of course its a fight I would love to see but I really dont see any reason for David to take this risk at the moment.

I really didn't expect Haye to agree to one more outing at cruiser, and if his issues are to do with the weight-draining where he seemed badly shaken up against Mormeck, then Enzo could capitalise.

However, if Haye can comfortably make the weight, I think the finishing he showed against Mormeck would really put Enzo on the mat, and possibly out for the count.

haye would be silly taking this fight. Longer term he will make more money by not draining himself and exposing himself to unnecessary risks like Macca who is not in his league. Did you see Haye on the Sunday programme on BBC 2 he was down to earth and talked about fighting the bigger heavyweights which was very amusing. That is where his future and destiny lies.

I think the question for him is does he gamble on going for the long run and having big success in the heavyweights, or does he take the big bucks that a Macca fight would make guaranteed?

I do not think there is that much money there, especially with warren taking a slice, he should just go for the heavyweight division and clean up the rubbish there.

I know for fact that Haye will fight at Heavy against a top 10 ranked opponent possibly in Spring
Shame though as those two would be bashing f*ck out of each other while it lasted.
Maybe one day they could meet at a catch weight but i seriously doubt it'll happen!!
Haye's got bigger fish to fry at the end of the ay and his status as Cruiser king helps him leapfrog all the shite domestic matchups and ive straight into the players at heavy.
Exciting times for the big fella next year.

I think Enzo is gonna keep fighting the Bobby Gunn's of the World and wait and see if Haye wins a Heavyweight title then push for a shot.

I think he's basically gonna be in Haye's slipstream and his own career will be over shadowed by Haye's unless Frank Warren let's him loose to start fighting the best.

Enzo can say he wants the fight but has already turned down a £500,000 offer from Frank Maloney.

IMO rahman is a good move into the heavyweight picture for David haye, Rahman is in the twilight zone & to catch him now is a shrewed piece of business.a win will look good on haye's record & set him self in the top ten. He does not need Enzo as much as Enzo needs him I do think that unless Enzo starts taking control of his career away from Warren he is allways going to be remembered as nearly man never putting himself on the line against the top fighters allways in Calzaghe's shadow. He should be trying for a fight with Dawson instead of chasing this pipe dream fight with Haye

You can all tell Rahman that he's no longer required, and send his pansy arse back to the states. The super-fight is on people, and personally I'm all the more delighted for it. Two British world champions going head-to-head...how can anyone prefer Haye v Rahman to that zingeroonie!

Why is Frank Warren putting Maccarinelli in with someone that will hit Enzo back?

Is Bobby Gunn not available next March?

    Never saw this one coming
Haye has so much too lose here compared to Enzo imo but fair play for taking this one.
Tough to call as both have been down before....

    Yeah, props to Haye.

I will NOT be betting on this fight

I will however state that I won't be surprised if Mac gets an injury....
