Default Ruiz set to face Chagaev

    got this from my phone

Two- time world heavyweight champion John Ruiz is set to fight Ruslan Chagaev in an elimination bout. The WBA notified top-rated Ruiz and Chagaev of its championship committee's decision for a fight to determine the number-one title contender. They urged promoters Don King (Ruiz) and Klaus Peter Kohl (Chagaev) to begin negotiations to stage the 12-round fight. Ruiz (41-6-1, 28 ko's) who lost a controversial majority decision to current WBA champion Nicolay Valuev last december in Berlin, is now set to accept the fight, with a rematch with valuev looking unlikely this year. ' Valuev has my belt,' Ruiz said.' If I cant get him to fight me instead of Barrett in october, I really dont have much of a choice, so we've informed the WBA of out willingness to fight Chagaev in the elimiation fight. 'It's obvious that Valuev doesnt want to fight me. He knows that i really beat him in his backyard. The decision was so bad everybody in the entire stadium was booing.' Chagaev, a southpaw from Uzekeistan, now fights out of Germany. He is the reigning WBA Intercontinental Champion. Ruiz plans on returning to the gym this week in las vegas or Puerto Rico

How exactly do you go about promoting a John Ruiz fight though?

I guess it's similar to getting a tamborine out in a nightclub and singing to people about Jesus, a sure fire way to evacuate the building!

This guy is amazing he gets banished and finds his way back...I dont see why promoters and sanctioning bodies keep letting this guy thrive

Chagaev is one of the best prospects in the division, I think he beats Ruiz fairly easily. I'm not sure if he beats Valuev, though, at only 6'1".

I am no fan of John Ruiz but in all fairness he should have gotten a rematch with Valuev it was a contested fight IMO Ruiz won....But if he didn't cry about all the other legit losses he might have gotten one....

Isn't it obvious, he is clearly from a big family, and like the mafia, they have representatives everywhere, including at all of the major regulatory bodies. And that is how the conspiracy begins........

I know it's ludicrous, but it's more plausible than they actually think he is a boxer capable of being a world champion and hanging on to the belt in any fights that arent against bums. And more plausible than the fact that he is an alien who can control minds.
