    Default The Jaw

I know to many of you this is a dumb question, but when your boxing, doesnt hitting them in the Jaw Knock them out? Is that the best place to aim for?

depends on how good a chin they have....and how well the punch is thrown....granted if you hit someone on the "Button"(solidly on the chin) you do have a greater chance of KOing them...or a devastating Liver punch....
It feels good to be back home.

not all refs' count bodyshots , so in fight you shouldn't throw only bodyshots.

I learned that the hard way...

A body shot is a very dangerous tool... a good shot to the liver will get most people down and it's hard to recover from.

When he throw a straight right hand he will be expouse to a hit in the liver so ,quickly you can lean to the left, give him a strong left uppercut to the liver and a left hook to the head , and he'll go down.

mostly hitting them on the jaw is to do with power!! but in some ways its more of a physical thing with it ssay u hit someone right on the button , i mean if you hit someone just fairly hard bang on the point of the chin it bangs your jaw back hard and fast enough so your jaw and other things maybe inside your head affect the pressure points near or possibly below your temple and thats one thing that happens when you see a fighter thats knocked out before they hit the ground!!

hell no never stop going to the body baby! bang em to the body then the head on the inside, then at range jab em give em strait rights and then duck in or lunge in with hooks to the body, then they drops the hands n you hit strait right hands to the chin
    lights out
of course this sounds mighty easy jus saying it, but if you stay true to your tactics it'll work fo ya.

you hit them in the body , they drop their hand and expose their chin and then you knock em out.
combining body shots with head shots can be good for you .. I don't bother hitting their body cuz i have reach and prefer to fight from the outside and go for the head but every fighter got his own style , do what suits you.

well if you want them to drop theyr gaurd theres no garauntee that hittin the body will deffo do it it'll tire em out n hurt em but some just dont drop guard,
when i want someone to drop they gaurd i lean left and keep slippin jabs and beat theyr arms and shoulders if they stick theyr jab out and leave it there to keep distance or set me up for something i uppercut the armand whenn the arm starts to hurt and get tireed theyr guard isnt as good and theyr jab is slower and gets shot lower and not as strait, so i time theyr jab, step back, and throw a strait right hand over the jab!
    lol nuff rantings :P

I always try to have my guys throw at least one bodyshot with every combo...In the Amatuers it is hard to really wear a guy down with them because you only have a few rounds

its good advice, and you wont see too many ko's in the amatuers when you bang to the head, cos there are guards, but aint no guards to the body, and if youre mixing body head body head, youre bound to land more , and score more
