    Default Castillo vs. Cotto

Why is there no talk about making this fight happen. Seems that neither of these guys have made a fight happen for their scheduled fight day.

They had a deal but then talks were kind of ruined after Castillo flaked out on Corrales. I think that in the minds of Cotto's camp, Castillo is damaged goods.

I think with Cotto moving to 147 it makes it harder to make this fight. But I'd expect a great, great fight. Although Castillo is a monster at 135 I think Cotto would win by decision if the fight was made now.

Arum is pissed at Castillo, who is still waiting on the hearing where he must likely get suspended and hefty fine.

Castillo really messed his chances against Cotto up.

Cotto hasn't officially announced his move yet.....If things play out right this fight might be under way mid 2007.
Lets hope that by then Castillo has cleared up his rep. and can create a draw.

Dude I don't know why everyones on Castillo's case all he did was not make weight. It's not like he bit his opponents ear, or threatened a ref, or pulled a sucker punch after the fight. He just didn't make weight it's not that big of a crime. Sure we missed out on a great fight but remember Corrales was the one who called of the fight. Looking at Castillo on those scales he would have been an easy mark for Corrales. The dude looked totally drained.

Mate i really hope so, but Hattons team seem quite incapable fo pulling in a good fight, were 18 months down the line from him being a world star and he has fought opposistion he should of been fighting four years ago as an up and comer, anyone who chats this shit he needs tune ups etc etc, wtf!! He beat probably the best 140lb ever he needs to step it up and quick, has Jermaine taylor gone had an easy scrap since he beat Bernard Hopkins? No he got in there with so peoples P4P number 1, other boxers 18 months after they beat a world class operator they are not still fighting club fighters who have paper titles, im getting very pissed at Hatton's team it wasnt long ago i read Hatton wanted 6 more fights and he named all the fighters he would want, there was no mention of the World Class Mr Unbongo!!! I honestly feel there just turning Ricky into a cash Cow making a couple of million every fight fighting no bodies, its a dam shame, but why couldnt he have fought Cotto this december?

I think Castillo would be the favorite at 140 and possibly 147. I think that Cotto would have a better chance at 147 to beat him. I would be a NICE fight thou.

I agree with you, Im getting pissed off with it all too. The thing is i know ricky would fight anyone out there at the drop of a hat but some people in his team are obviously milking it as much as they can while he is at the top.

I do however believe the only reason he is taking the Urangutang fight is to get the belt so it can be on the line early next year for a fight with castillo in vegas. (im told this is near enough a done deal)

Oh and the reason he cant fight cotto in december is because bob arum wanted NOTHING to do with it at this time. Seems to me that a few people are losing their faith in Cotto slightly, I hope he puts on a good performance in december though cos it would be a great match up later in 2007, Maybe he could figh tthe winner of Hatton v Castillo??

He didn't make weight in the second fight either...& one of his cornermen stuck their foot under the scale.

The second time...he just blatantly didn't try.

How much longer do you go without punishing shit like that?

A few people losing faith doesn't really mean shit regarding Cotto...just look at how many people lost faith in Hatton & his 1 mega man win. What happened to him dominating America?

    Talk about losing faith.

    Good doggy.

I bet it wasn't Castillo's idea to make the fight at 135. All he did is not make weight! No crime, no foul. Should be suspended for it. Maybe a fine. But a suspension would be bullsh*t. Remember Corrales said no to the fight. What was he worried about? A half starved man is gonna beat him again?

Castillo didnt make weight in their second fight and he dominated and won by KO in 4. Their is something to getting those last few pounds off. I thought Chico made a smart decision, cuz you never know exactly how drained the other fighter is. Personally didnt think the 3 match should have been contracted at 135 should have been a catch weight. And Castillo does deserve some type of suspension (6 months tops) you cant sign a contract at a weight and then not make it for the second time in a row. Vegas lost a lot of money that weekend.
