Default Pacman changes his mind on Em's weight!!!

    http://www.doghouseboxing.com/chee/chee_082306.htm

According to a report out by Recah Trinidad of inq7.net idicates that Cebu-based Manager, Rex "Wakee" Salud swears yesterday he can not understand why Manny Pacquiao had suddenly changed his mind in regards to weight allowance in his upcoming rubber match with Erik Morales.

Salud tells inq7.net that Pacman's decision to allow Morales to weigh upwards as much as 132 lb for their match-up instead of the agreed 130lb limit is unusual, if not exactly abnormal. Especially since prior to yesterday
Pacquiao had already rejected earlier offers for him to fight Morales at a catch-weight of preferably 132 lb opting to keep the limit of 130lbs like the previous two fights were fought at.

Salud quoted by the paper said: "I was telling him (Pacquiao) not to bend back, he should insist on 130 lb. It’s his decision, I can't do anything anymore."

It's not so much the weight as how much strength loosing each pound saps.

Hmm,I know that sounds simple but I don't understand it! So it's a good thing having that extra few pounds to manuever for Morales right?

It just mean Morales won't need to kill himself making weight.

In a close fight it could prove decisive. I think Manny is obviously not wanting Morales to have any excuses come fight night.

And the good news for us fans is that we are a little less likely to have another Castillo-esque debacle on our hands.

I'm getting more confused. First, Erik comes with all kinds of bold statements (some say 'trash' but not me) climaxing with his now famous "Believe in me" declaration (did I exaggerate on that one?). So I gave him few points advantage for the motivation factor. Now comes Pacman giving his opponent some weight 'advantage' - they say action speaks louder than words. Even though I'm a Pacman fan, I still don't get it. Is he being too foolhardy? The least I can say is perhaps he's a bit overconfident. But the big problem is instead of gaining some advantage for himself, he gave it away to his opponent! Why?! You can't do that to the El Terriiible, no way. That's crazy, stupid! Mr. El Terriiiiible, I mean Phenomena, maybe you can put some sense into it.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

What's Pacquiao doing he should have made Morales make the weight. Although Morales may make this new weight easier it won't help him much in the fight. If he's struggling to get down in weight it will affect him later in the fight. I always said that Morales needs to come in at his best to win this fight but to me it sounds like he's gonna be drained.

Exactly, 2 extra pounds of force in a punch isn't an awful lot really... it's the fact that these boxers are not naturally this light, no one is... they have to burn off massive quantities of fat and other stored energy sources like Glycogen and then dehydrate to dangerous levels just to make the weight.

2 pounds isn't a lot to get hit with, it can be a lot to loose though, it only gets harder to loose the weight the lower you get because it is so unatural for the body.
