    Default IN THEIR PRIME?!!??!?!

    Listen...

Does anyone ever mean the washed up bum Ali? Does anyone ever mean the Meineke Muffler hypin' George Foreman or the fumblin' for his mouthpiece Mike Tyson?

If someone says "in their prime" one more time I'll go nuckin ' futs!

If you look at the 'Prime Lewis v Prime Tyson' thread, everybodies arguments about Tyson are based on him after he came out of prsion, i.e not prime

    Agreed.

The problem is that many people on this forum are of different ages and only remember (first hand anyway) different elements of a fighters career.

Somoen who is under, say, 18 will not remember the animal that Mike Tyson really was and the fear he generated around the worls at the time. Me personally, if I had not seen videos etc, may think of the great Muhammed Ali as a boring clincher who stole decisions he should not have got.

I suppose pople have to rpeface their comments with 'prime' because of ten the prime period for a fighter is so short as well?

On the downside, however, when was Archie Moore's prime, or Sonny Liston for example

LMFAO!!!!! You Get a CC from me for sure......When I looked at the topic from this thead the first thing I thought was F$#@%^& A does anyone read the topics already posted before they start a new one...Since their are like 3 about fighters in their prime right now...And like BIG H said most don't speak about fighters in their real prime his EG of Tyson and how they mention him after his first stint in prison and not in the mid to later 80's when he was in his prime.........IF I SAW ONE MORE THREAD ABOUT TONEY PETERS I WOULD HAVE LOST MY MIND!!!!!!!

It's all a misprint - people actually mean in their "Primo" as the greatest heavyweight who ever lived is used as an example of a man at his peak.

Ah i'm sure you would of wanted to see that music thread that we had a while back.

I think I mentioned Stone Temple Pilots or something Scott Weiland related and Lyle immediately came back at me with 'What has Scott done? He's never had a solo career! He's done nothing and will never be nothing! Unlike a prime Elvis!'

Swear to god it was the funniest shit I've ever read. Wish I could find it somewhere on here

Yup I guess in 30 years time we will be referring to fighters at their peak as being 'in their Valeuv'

I know what you mean it pisses me off....but it provides clarification for people who are confused by the question so we just have to grit our teeth

Well of course all the people who say Tyson would beat Rocky Marciano and Jack Dempsey SHOULD say

"Wlad would win because he's sooo much bigger and stronger"

And don't even back away from that because those are the reasons Tyson would beat Rocky and Dempsey...uh oh I just done opened a can of worms

Nah he would've beaten him because, contrary to what you believe he had so many more tools than both those fighters

Apparently they do if they say that all you needed to do to beat Tyson was stand up to him and that he needed to intimidate you to beat you.

    Tyson!!

The thing about all these Tate's and Doulas's and Mercers etc etc. If Tyson was really that ordinary, how did he rule the division the way he did and why did none of them. What was it about him that made everybody in the world know his name, becuase it wasn't his life outside the ring during those prime years. It was the fact that he was an awesome fighter- I agree that from Douglas onwards he was just a good heavyweight, but before that, no matter how short the period was , he was great

Nice to get this one started again
