I was at the Barrera vs. Juarez II - L.A. Press Conference (9-12-06)

Woke up this morning to a phone call from a good friend over at GBP. Leting me know that he was gonna save a seat for me if I was interested in attending todays press conference for the up coming rematch between Marco Antonio Barrera & Rocky Juarez. I wasnt sure if I was gonna be able to make it. So I told him don't count on me he said he still would save a seat incase I showed up.

Well I get up call my manager and he tells me to sort things out but meet him A.S.A.P. after the press conference.

I get to the restaraunt El Paseo located in Downtown L.A. in a area known as La Placita Olvera. Walk in the room and WOW!! very crowded and a lot of excitment in the air. Lots of talk of what will happen come Sat. night. Saw a few people from MaxBoxing,
FightNews, BoxingTalk and others.

ODLH was there and kicked off the conf. with a breakdown of the fight and the undercard. I'm uploading the video I took there it might take a while if your interested check back in a couple of hrs. or tommorrow.

Quick note Barrera said that for the first fight Rocky made comments that the L.A. Commission had given him a gift decision in their 1st meeting cuz they were on his turf (Barreras), Well he said now that it's in Vegas he will have NO excuses once I beat him.


I took a few pictures some are better then others as far as lighting. The video will also be a bit dark and shakey since it's from my nad held Camera/Vid. Recorder.

I'll be REAL honest with you I've seen Barrera a few times prior to a fight in conf. or what not for some reason he just looked drained (weight) he looked weak and hes getting old, when I was up close you could see it that there was something going on.


I would say making weight is a problem.

MAB speaks on the mic. and discusses what I said on my 1st post in this thread. Most of it is in spanish he basically said he has family in Texas and that his family read and some heard Rocky in interviews where he said the L.A. Comission gave Barrera a gift he then says that once in Veags thats nuetral grounds he wont have excuses. Then both fighters stand up for photos.

haha i used to rock D&G's for like the past 3yrs till last time i went clubbin in hollywood and they fell off me while i was grinind some hizzzo on the dance floor. they had huge D&G inprinted on the side. i miss those. hey listen us talk: D&G, DIORS etc u know we some real LA METROSEXUALS haaha the rest of the country and everyone else probably like WTF these two men discussing high end fashion on a boxing website. hell yeah KEEPIN it REAAAAAAAAAAAAAL hahaha

And IMO ODLH brought that in to the sport of boxing. He was a model for a few ads., he designed a short line of suits.
He brought glam to the sport. Which IMO is good for the sport.

I keep mine real all the time what you see is what you get I'am who I'am all the time sun, rain or shine.

Thats why this board is the best we are who we are and in the world of boxing chat we can all come together and dish it out.
