Jr welterweight Junior Witter (34-1-2, 19 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley (31-5-1, 17 KOs) to win the vacant WBC 140lb title formerly held by Floyd Mayweather on Friday night at the Alexandra Palace in London. Scores were 117-111, 118-112, 116-113. There were no knockdowns and the bout was very tactical and closely contested in all rounds, however it was Witter who landed the harder punches.

Boring fight, he'll still struggle to make any impact with that style IMO, none of the big guns will want him after a performance like that as they would struggle to sell the rights in America. As for future fights the most likely I see is a rematch with Zab, avenge the loss etc... and Zab needs a comeback fight...

i didnt find this fight boring or close... Witter was fast as fuck and impresses this fan and tonight made me rate him alot higher than i did a few hours ago

Hatton had problems with Magee, I think Witter could cause an upset there

I thought Witter just did enough again tonight and it is very frustrating. He needs to start getting himself on the big stage and winning it good fashion to enhance his name. No wonder Hatton is more publicised- BECAUSE HES MORE FUN TO WATCH!

witter fought a clever fight and his class shone through. hes one of them fighters whose never gonna fill arenas like hatton buts he definitely as good as hatton. this reminds me of herol graham in his prime. too good for his own good! i think hes good enough to beat judah if they meet again but whether he gets the chance against the big names remains to be seen.

Absolutely. I just watched the fight and that's 100% correct... Witter fought very very well I was impressed and didn't think he had that kind of performance in him, tbo.. Corley definetly didn't want to taste too many of his shots and it was Corley who set the pace by not pressing, Witter did everything he needed to, and absorbed absolutely no damage in the fight... Exactly what he should have done.
