40 lb vest

i just got a 40 lb vest.
i plan to wear it most of the day..every day.. not when im sleeping and not when im at school..
i walk allot, and i will wear it when punching my bag
now is it good? or not really that good?

Doesn't seem necessary. It also sounds like a lot of stress on your lower back and makes for a possibly socially awkward situation =P.

it comes with 20 2 lb weights so i can have it at any weight
what do you think is good ammnt

Munk3y to what end? Why are you training...is it so you handle yourself should the need arise? Just for fun?

If you give us an idea about what you are training for then we could offer some advice.

pretty much for fun.. i just like excersizing allot, and building up my strength
i dont really excersize in case i ever need to fight, but just for strength.
and like i said
i just love to excersize

just get a decent weight training and excercise routine going. If you're into boxing, do the boxing too

honestly there's no need for the vest.

I Tried Hitting the Bag With A 45 Pound Vest On And I Kept Getting Hit In the Hip With One Of The Weights It Really Hurt

lol. i see what you're saying now.

i said it earlier though; sounds pretty socially awkward to me. If the vest is somewhat puffy, you wear it around and it puffs up your clothes around it. Then people will constantly be asking you why you're wearing the vest lol. =P.

lol no it isnt fire proof...lol
he just needs it to stay in shape for firefighting cuz he does wildland fires and you have to be able to walk 3 miles in 45 minutes with a 45 pound pack i dont know if it is hard becuz i have not done it but i will probably do it next year becuz i will be 18
