Default just watched hopkins vs jones jr

it was a good fight. not alot of punches thrown, two great fighters. im a fan of hopkins but i would of given that to jones. wondering what your opinions would be if hopkins unretired and chose to stay at light heavy and fight jones ?

i would think hopkins would win the rematch by decision. what do you think ?

Well, if a rematch happened immediately I think Roy would have beat him worse....now had it happened later once B-Hop really established himself as one of the better middleweights in history it might have been closer.

The thing is Roy paced himself and Hopkins paced himself and you have to favor Roy with that.

Bernard I think was better vs pressure fighters and sluggers because he paced himself, he had decent defense, he was a good counter puncher, and he was a very accurate puncher guys like:

    Jeff Lacy
    Mikkel Kessler
    Edison Miranda
    Arthur Abraham
    Felix Trinidad
    Fernando Vargas
    Shane Mosley
    Jake Lamatta
    Rocky Graziano
    Gene Fullmer

would have been GREAT for B-Hop

Nigel Benn vs Bernard Hopkins would have been a true test and I think the pinnicle of his skill fails him vs someone like Marvin Hagler because there is no way he would be able to hurt Marvin

I will give you some love! RJJ is far beyond his day's so a rematch would be a Hopkins win IMO. But the only reason the first fight was not a KO is because RJJ broke his hand.

Yea I only recently watched the whole fight as well actually, and I always thought McCallum gave a prime Roy Jones his toughest fight, but Hopkins may take it.. Although Roy did seemingly hurt his right hand and was reluctant to use it, so I don't know if you'd call it prime RJJ. Was definetly a good showing by Hopkins though imo, he was still quite green at the time.
