For once I agree with Manny.

    Quintana's no joke.

If Cotto fights like Cotto of two years ago...the boxer...he'll do just fine...but he won't fight with his head & he'll end up looking stupid.

    Quitana by upset SD.

    Wait & see.

As a fan of both, I hate the fact that they're fighting but I would be more surprised if Cotto won because Quintana is just an outstanding fighter that does just about everything right.

I can't wait for this fight, I know this is a tough fight for Cotto, but I think Cotto will show what he is made of in this fight, he has the skills to beat Quintana, but Quintana is no joke and their is a reason he is undefeated.

Excellent points by all you guys,CC. I think this is when I really find out if Cotto is the star I think he is. Quintana is a slick slick boxer puncher,he's no Spinks or other stinker type boxers,he won't get hit and run,he'll sit on his shots, has decent power too.Having seen 3-4 fights of Quintana,I think he can be open to the body at times and you know what that means peeps, that AWESOME Cotto hook to the body!

I'm worried about 2 things, the natural strenght advantage of Quintana
(I hope Cotto does not get hounded back to 140 like Hatton)

aaaaand how Cotto handles the power of Carlos,a full blown WW.

I want to see the patient, stalking boxer puncher type Cotto,I hate when the crowd gets him pumped up and he wades in,hands down, landing but getting caught too.

As for my prediction,I think Cotto wins,I would not be MASSIVELY surprised if Quintana did but Cotto needs this. Cotto UD.

Yeah, boxing fans too,and remember,if he and Tony win,UNIFICATION TIME BABY!!!! But one step at a time although one question brothers,is Miguel Cotto P4P after this win? In my opinion, yes he is very very close but I'm not sure......

He has a great resume, very under rated, has beat game fighters alllllll the way through and this would be the icing on the cake but are there any A names OR are lost of B fighters sufficient?(they are for Mayweather so it should be cool for Miguel no?)

A win over Quintana would be more impressive than any of PBFs opposition the last 3 or 4 years. I'm telling you man, Quintana is the real deal.

I'll put my hands up and admit, before the Julio fight,I never ever heard of Quintana,I know that's bad but being a true student,I've done my research and actually, his beating of Julio was not such a shock for those in the know(experienced writers wtc) who knew of QUintana and predicted he would school Julio.

Either way, wether Cotto wins or loses,he HAS to stay at 147,I don't want to see him killin himself to make 140. And whoever loses still has a bright future,I truly believe that.

    Pre-emptive CC.

From a Promoter's point of view:
This fight should have never happend! Cotto should go for a BIG fight before he takes this kid. Too awkward. Not only that he's from Cotto's home turf.

    FROM MY POINT OF VIEW!!!

haha Cotto's gonna get his *ss handed to him, by someone somewhat his size, finally!!!!!

Awesome fight!!!! Excellent card. Showtime doesn't give a shyyyyaatte for their fighters!!! The TRUE LEADER in boxing!

Like Gyrokai said its not really a great business move, its definitely a fan friendly move though. Credit to both guys big time.

I wish I could see more of Quintana before I make a pick, I've only seen him against that Nurhan Surleymanolu guy on ESPN and Julio. He looks good though, smart fighter.

Well he just tamed Julio, which is all I need to know to be scared of this sonuvabiatch! heheh Had a chin, some ummph in his punches, and southpaw. And for once Cotto won't have a 20 pound advantage! ha

If Cotto gets past this one..... I just keep praising him, even though I constantly root against him.

    Why didn't Cotto fight Collazo?

I think Collazo's "win" against Hatton was more impressive then Quintana's win over Julio.

Maybe it was but for Cotto's first fight at 147 its very impressive, I doubt that many people would have complained if Cotto had taken on a no hoper cause its a move up in weight and a lot of guys do that, Quintana's a very solid first fight at a new weight. I don't see any reason to complain about it, Urkal was boring, this is a good fight.

I agree. But Hatton took a bigger risk in fighting Collazo. And now that everyone has SEEN Collazo, I thought maybe Cotto should take that risk and see if he could do better.

Quintana is the easier fight no doubt. But I thought SOMEONE should at least give Collazo a shot.
