    Default Self Destructive Boxers

Which one of these fighters ruined themselves more. All of them had success in the ring but all of them lost focus and screwed themselves, their mental focus was just not there. If others deserve to be mentioned name them.

IMO Mike just screwed himself, but it's just not him. People around him trying to leech money, etc....

Zab is still young and can still make a better career.

I think James Toney is another good candidate.

His attitude to conditioning was fairly self ditructive..... *POP*

CC for the extra candidate, I would put Johnny Tapia in their also, but after all he went through it's hard to blame him for being self destructive.

    Tyrell Biggs?

    Riddick Bowe?

The guy who was going to be the next Duran and then got sent down for rape - latino guy from California, I think. he got out after 15 years and did it again? What was his name??

Bowe is a good pick, I remember when I was in the Marine Corps (US Military) he joined because he said it was his childhood dream, he quit after three day's, he was a fruitcake, great talent horrible brains

DEFINITELY Mike Tyson no question about it. Could have been one of the best boxers ever, he had all the potential but it was wasted by himself and others around him. Sad sad story.

Yeah the late 70's - early 80's were rife with drug problems in many sports.

    Stiil feeling the effects now

It has to be Tyson IMO...he had it all. But himself and circumstance blew it all away...

I will always maintain that prime Tyson was a match for anyone. Only Ali had the boxing brain to perhaps come to terms with that....
