Default Calzaghe..my god boxing is in trouble

when hbo is headling these over seas uk guys, there really is a lack of talent, he looked awful to me like an amateur.... he could not beat winky nor taylor nor hopkins no way, oh and the nosense of calzaghe vs jones in his prime, I dont think the fight would have gone 4 rounds, and I hate jones

Don't be a bloody asshole pacdag, you know better, every fight can't be a spectacular display of remarkable skill, but if you look at his career he has been very successful, but I agree with you about RJJ, he would have murdered this guy.

Title of the thread might be a BIT overdramatic

Just cause they have to go overseas and show a Calzaghe fight boxing is in trouble. You know, he's not that bad of a fighter.

mabey I was being a bit of a bloody a!!!hole but... let me say this Im from the us and the last uk guy I thought was decent was hatton and he looked pretty ordinary and confirmed hed lose to the top guy and easily. Calzaghe dos not even possess the skill of hatton, he fights like an amareur and has not impressed me, sure he looked good against lacy but lacy was your typical showtime lesser quality opponent not an hbo fighter. I thought prince naseem looked very ameturish also a good fighter \but way way overated. The fact is when european fighters arethe typical style fighter they are below fighters here in the us its just thayt boxing here is bad, and may never get better right now. Exceptions are klitchko, vladmir not vitali, (if vitali had a chin hed been 10 timnes as good as vitali, who is horrible skill wise) valdimir has adjusted and has become very good, lennox well he was always good but became better as he adapted his style

Look...everyone's entitled to an opinion...but this is clearly an uneducated one...atleast as far as Joe Calzaghe goes.

One or two bad performances does not break ground for hanging a fighter out to dry like this. Calzaghe is one of the most skilled fighters of the 168lb division & he's running undefeated in 42 fights for a reason.

You need to see more than one or two fights before passing judgement.

One of Calzaghes worst fights, but it was still more entertaining than most of the boxing matches i have seen during my lifetime.

Yeah!! I agree I think this is over the top... I don't Joes garbage or suck but he did have a bad night in the sense that he hasnt gotten the performance that was expected of him.

If only he fought every fight with the same manner he fought with Lacy.

Like you did to Roy Jones

Or were you just saying that Jones was good at counting the birds over his head to have a go at me

Damn Girl you never miss a trick do you? ,

Anyways i agree Joe is very much overrated, Lacy was the perfect fighter to make Joe look better than he is, Jeff was young and Inexperienced, Had No movement, No speed, No head movement, Technically lacking i mean you would have thought Joe beat someone like Mayweather, Not to mention he was at home infront of a partizan crowd, And he's already been knocked down by average fighters too, If Joe fights Taylor or Winky he'll lose for sure, He hasn't fought people of that class before, Eubank was at the end of his career when Joe beat him,

It's time for the excuses to stop and for him to get on the plane and face some real champions, He'll get his a** kicked but at least he'd have taken a risk or two.

    peace

Just like a woman...always trying to overly dramatize one's statements to twist them into a weak arguement.

What I said about Roy Jones...of whom I am a fan...is that I did not want to see him get his ass knocked out again or end up like Gerald...which is what I feared would happen when he faced tip top competition.

Never said anything about birds over a body...just that as a fan...I didn't want to see him get ko'd again.

This situation is in no way related to Jones's situation.
