Default Calvin Brock Vs Wladimir Klitschko THOUGHTS?

I bet £20 and won £2.50 cause I knew Brock didn't have it in him.

He went in 6 and was not offensive enough..

What are the thoughts of the forum? Anyone see it?

I though it was an awkward fight. Brock was hitting him hard to the body. You could tell Klitscho didn't like those body shots. I notice vlad setting brock up for the cross in earlier rounds. He would throw a jab to snap Brock's head back and then not follow with anything. Then in the final round he would throw a similar type jab and then follow it with the quick right cross. Brock landed some hard body shots.

Brock did a good job with the bodywork but he was way too nervous to start out and he stood right infront of Wlad.

Wlad might not have liked the shots to the body but they didn't really phase him or throw him off his plan....Brock wanted him to drop his hands, that's all.

Wladimir had some adversity, a cut, a slick fighter.....and he saw that adversity and knocked it out!

Here are some thoughts. I could tell from the prefight interview that Brock was shitting bricks. Wlad was clearly focused and ready to go when he walked into the right. If I had any doubts about Wlad winning, they were erased when the two fighters walked into the ring.

Brock made a great effort. He turned that nervious energy into a good work rate to take the first round, then he had some strong bodywork in round 2 to jump out to a little lead. I was impressed by Brocks defense, but I was sure Wlad would have him figured out soon.

Now Wlad starts to get the jab working. Still no big right hands. Brock continues to land body shots, but can't find Wlad's chin. Smart fighting. Wlad knows he ain't getting KO's from body shots. Then comes round 7. Just a classic 1-2 perfect in every way. You knew it was coming. He had been setting it up for 3 rounds. The fight was about even to me at that point, but the momentum had totally shifted, even before the KO.

No doubt, Wlad can crack. He's the man right now.

I thought Wlad looked pretty good, certainly he is the man in the heavyweight division right now.

Brock has nothing to be ashamed about, he was just too inexperienced imo.

He looked so nervous at the start but he managed to compose himself and make it a pretty even fightw whilst it lasted.

In the end I think the difference came down to size and power, Wladimir just looked huge compared to Calvin.

Credit to Wladimr, in beating Sam Peter and now Calvin Brock he's probably already taken the best two fighters in the division.

Maskaev, Briggs and Valuev should be just routine. The war is over, now it's just about mopping up.

What should Brock do with his career?

Could he be a Champion one day? Proper title (i.e. IBF, WBO, WBA, WBC).

I think Brock should do what most fail to do after a title shot loss....I think he should get back up that horse and try it again!

Sam Peter lost to Wlad and he went to Julius Long to feel better about himself....like "man it felt good to KO someone again"

Brock should take advantage of his success, fight ANYONE on the rise!!! Whether it's Sultan, Austin, Chagaev, Ruiz, Dimitrenko....whatever he does he shouldn't fight a bum, it'll take up precious time and will be a waste!

Thoughts are this....Wlad put on a superb performance as usual...my only criticism is the only one of him I have ever had...he needs to establish the snapping jab just a little earlier..always a lot of measuring in the first round. Then again, if thats what it takes for him to dominate as he does then so be it.

Brock had a great defence and that was the key for him but its real hard for a heavy to hold his hands up that high for 12 rounds let alone 6 plus change. Nice work by Brock..I can take him more seriously now than i did prior to this fight.
