Las Vegas — In less than 24 hours after knocking out Erik Morales in the third installment of their compelling boxing rivalry, Manny Pacquiao ran into his archrival once again.
This time, it was not under hostile circumstances.
The two were in separate gambling tables at the Wynn hotel casino early Sunday evening, relaxing after their slam-bang encounter Saturday night, although they did so in contrasting fashion.
Morales sat quietly at a roulette table, casually placing bets in the form of $25 chips and drinking beer with a friend. He was later joined by his wife, Andrea.
Pacquiao, on the other hand, was swarmed by throng of supporters as he tried his luck on the baccarat table. With a slightly swollen hand, he deftly toyed with his stack of chips, tossing in thousand dollar bets every hand.
Earlier, Morales signed an autograph for a member of Team Pacquiao and then asked if he could have a jacket worn by the Filipino’s entourage as a souvenir. The team member obliged, handing Morales a Team Pacquiao jacket.
The house, though, got the better of Pacquiao in that round and the Filipino boxing sensation decided to transfer to another table to try to change his luck.
That was when he approached Morales and the two shook hands as onlookers began snapping pictures.
The loss, though, hardly bothered Pacquiao, who was all smiles the whole time.
He even cracked a few jokes in between losses. At one point, he drew a queen and an ace, and told the dealer: “Wrong table.”
Morales was accommodating towards the Filipino fans that surrounded Pacquiao at the baccarat table. He obliged autograph requests and gamely posed for photos in between placing bets at the roulette table.
