Default Morales wants one more title!

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...yWlszBijk.html

As previously reported, ring legend Erik Morales says he wants one more fight in Tijuana, then he plans to retire. However, Morales isn't planning a "goodbye fight" against lesser opposition. "El Terrible" wants to end his career fighting for the WBC lightweight world title in June or July in an attempt to break the Mexican record he shares with Julio Cesar Chavez of winning world titles in three different divisions. "I will not make a goodbye tour," said Morales. "I will only fight for the world lightweight title....then win or lose, I will go away from boxing."

cc EG. i honestly believe morales still has what it takes to win another title. he just couldn't hack it at 130lbs anymore. he needs to train seriously for a crack at a lightweight title.

he can doooo eeeeet, vamos elll teriiiiible!!!

I rather he didn't, but if he is he should go after Juan Diaz or the IBF champion Jesus Chavez. He's beaten Chavez already and I think he'll handle Diaz pretty easily. I would hate to see him go up against Joel Casamayor

imo, erik's best bet is against julio diaz who now holds the ibf belt. i don't know what's up with chavez. too many injuries, maybe he's retired. morales will have a harder time with juan diaz. casamayor has the style to frustrate him but then casamayor is starting to get too old. morales could also try for the wbo which i think is vacant right now since freitas just retired.

This is what I meant, El Gamo, he still can do it. Remember my thread saying just that, actually that thread was meant as a gift for you , but believe me, I sincerely believe that. I've always told you Erik is still the toughest customer for Pac, and I believe he is still better than all the super-feathers out there. I want him to end his carreer in glory, with a crown on his head befitting a king, and not bowing down, not just yet.

And Violent D., you're right, Chavez will be a good choice (at last we agree), and kabayan Kkizza, the vacant title you mentioned is worth trying. But Baby Bull, I have some doubts coz he uses sonewall defense ala Winky and seeing Pac absorbing all the best shots of Erik, I doubt if he can penetrate that, but still he might win on points.

Ok guyz, lets just hope Erik will get his record fourth title and leave the ring with much deserve honor and glory. He just got to.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

YESSSS! One More EL TERRIBLE FIGHT! GO ERIK, it was also really heavy on us Pacfans to see you retire that was why I was really rooting for a draw last saturday. And, yeah who are the lightweight Champs, I know Jesus Chavez, EM can take him. And if just one wonderful night I believe he can take on every lightweight champ there is.

Unforunatley 3 consecutive defeats ( 2 of them crushing K.O's ) does not qualify you for a shot at the WBC title in a higher weight class . He will have to get his career back on track and work his way up but even he doubts he has it in him ash wants to be out the game after 1 more fight .

Personally I think he should have a farewell fight against someone he can beat, in Tijuana

This is what I predicted from Morales. He will decide not to go down without a fight. He is a warrior and he deserves a chance.

Major respect for this. Hes still a fighter inside and seems to know his own achievements.
Although unfortunately game may be right. Why would they grant him a lightweight title shot after his latest performance.
But still, im rooting for him big time.

Can't see it, to be honest. Juan Diaz would perhaps be the best bet since he doesn't have much power, but I still feel he would outpoint MOrales and absorb his punches.. Morales may have already beat Jesus Chavez but it was hardly an easy win, he was almost KTFO in the first round(noone's came close to doing that to Erik before), and in the 2nd Chavez injured his arm/hand badly, but still made it a war that went the distance with one hand... Assuming Chavez still has alot left, and with his power at 135, I don't see MOrales winning this time. Casamayor would definetly beat Erik imo, no question. Look what Zahir Raheem did to MOrales at lightweight... People offered the excuse then that Morales was bloated and lethargic, or against PAc that he was weight drained.. Well, I hate to say it but I think the word is SHOT.

CC back guys...I'm not so sure,I mean fighting a few pounds higher would make it easier and I'd rather see him go out on a winning note but does it still have it in him? I don't know.....I don't want to see him lose again,no way...

For his sake it's best if he has a farewell fight against some 16-5-4 kinda guy.....

Theres just no need to try and go out with a big bang in wining a title, hes big bang departure was PAC III and he lost....

I hope he doesn't face a World Class oponent or he will be seriously hurt.
