he was nowhere near to getting koed i think u need to rewatch the fight if u think that he got knockdown which was more a slip and got caught with few punches but everyone gets caught but he was never staggered and he certainly wasnt almost koedOriginally Posted by SalTheButcher
i didnt get to see it yet, but what i read made it seem like he was hurt
he wasnt really hurt his foot got caught in the ropes he took few shots but overall performed well but i think he will struggle with big hitters to be honest he did get hurt few times but nothing majorOriginally Posted by SalTheButcher
i dont dislike the guy, i gave him that badass nickname, but i think its a little insane that people hype him up the way they do
That nickname is definitely bad ass![]()
agreed he has some skills and his stamina seemed ok but his chin is still untested i wana see him hit by big puncher or atleast someone with decent ko ratio then we can decide if he is the real deal or notOriginally Posted by SalTheButcher
Was only his 10th fight, hes still a baby in the sport.

But he was a bronze medal winner and supposed to be this great sensation.....you know who else won an olympic medal.....Panchito BojadoOriginally Posted by The Grinch
Saddos been calling it out that Khans chin is suspect and that once he steps in with a pumcher he'll be done....
I personally more then anything hate his stands and think that shet! is not gonna work once he steps with some real competion....
I mean theres some room to grow but when a lot is expected of you then the pressures on you 10 times bigger... And you feel the need to succeed and look good doing it.
Credit to the kid and I hope hes woriking hard at improving his skills ....

he was nowhere near to getting ktfo last night . That french guy had never knocked anyone out and he wasnt quick enough to outbox Kahn so there was no way he could win .
Amirs boxing is improving even if his statisical performances arent . for a guy with a 10-3 record dat french geeza wasnt bad . Amir now has to learn from his mistakes if hes to go far in this game
You can have a below average chin and still compete at the elite level... you just gotta have loads of determination.
I thought that Algerian Frenchman was the absolute perfect opponent for Khan. He was game and came to fight, he was awkward and had a good chin, he had clearly trained well and he could not punch. Excellent matchmaking.
So, for the first time, Khan could get some much needed experience - Khan is a really skillful boxer with fast hands. His stamina was good, and the kid paced himself really well (to the point of deciding exactly when to punch himself to a standstill in the last round). His post fight comments were a refreshing change from the usual bragging we see from fighters.
Yes, he was hurt a few times - but this is boxing, that's what happens. Any fighter who regularly says he was never hurt is not being entirely honest with us or himself. I don't think that the knockdown hurt him particularly and it looked largely a trip to me, although fair play his hand did touch down so it should have been counted as one.
He is not a big puncher, so he will never have a record studded with one punch knockouts - it is only the average idiot in the street who thinks that's the case and expects a blow out in every fight.
His defence is poor though, as he drops his left and leaves his chin hanging in the air. Also he draw back from punches rather than ducking, weaving or stepping inside them. He still fights in straight lines, like an amateur.
He has been on prime time TV since his debut......... ridiculous. Ali, Louis, Tyson, Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, Duran etc etc all had glaring deficiencies in their tenth pro fight, but could fix them in private.
let's hope that Khan realises this and is realistic and professional enough to do so, rather than simply paper over the cracks and get found out later, Like Naseem. If there is no improvement in this over his next two or three fights, he really needs to take a long hard look at his trainer.
