    Default Karmazin Returns!

    http://www.boxingbuzz.com/peter-klitschko/bates12.htm

On the undercard of the James Toney/Samuel Peter heavyweight rematch this Saturday in Miami, Florida, former IBF Junior Middleweight Champion Roman Karmazin (34-2-1, 21 KOs) returns to the ring against hard-punching James Obede Toney (21-2-1, 19 KOs).

there have been talks of him possibly fighting Daniel Santos in a title eliminator, should he be victorious Saturday night.

I think this guy is the dangerman at 154 for sure. I mean he dropped Ouma, not even Taylor could do that ,heck he could not even hurt Ouma. I'd LOOOOOOVE to see Roman fight Rivera, they are the 2 main dangermen at 154 for me.

The problem with Karmazin is he is so dangerous that no one will want to fight him since its a huge risk with no reward I bet you Spinks dosent want to hear a damn thing about a rematch.

I just like that he's fighting a guy named James Toney on the undercard of a James Toney fight.

Very true becasue Spinks knows he would get KTFO! It was a stuuuuuupid move from Roman not to have a rematch clause but I find it funny,Spinks and that asswipe Kenny Cunningahm call EVERYONE out, call everyone pussies yet they don't rematch Karmazin AFTER rOMAN GAVE spinks an undeserved shot. I honestly would like Cory to get KTFO!

Not too sure I agree with your thoughts on this... For one thing, I can almost guarentee you Spinks brought Karmazin his biggest career payday, and like you say noone else was eagerly awaiting a chance to fight Roman, nor was there anyone that he should have been chomping at the bit to fight.. Spinks should have been a good choice of opponent, which leads me to my opinion, which is that Karmazin fought like absolute shit vs SPinks and really deserved to lose . SPinks handled him pretty well in the early rounds, Karmazin gave away enough rounds in that fight to make a draw the best possile outcome he could have gotten imo... THe thing is man, fighters have to know what they are putting on the table before they take a fight, and they need to take every step possible to ensure that they will impress... Karmazin was a title holder being brought in to Spinks hometown to try and rebuild Corys career with a title at a higher weight class... YOu really think Karmazin shouldn't have known that he wasn't going to get a rematch if Spinks managed to take it? Of course he did.. He knew he had to win that fight, but he fought like dogshit and imo lost.. I don't know if he just looked better than he was against Ouma due to styles or anything else but I honestly don't think a whole lot of him.

Rivera v Garcia was one the best fights of last year but not many people saw or talked about it, and its likely Rivera v Karmazin would be the same, personally i'd love to see it, they are both well rounded, and come to fight, but with obvious flaws as well, making them extremely watchable.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Thats because it was aired the same night as the Mayorga vs Oscar fight. And actually The Garcia vs Rivera fight was a better fight IMO.

DEFINITELY agree Hulk, the Rivera fight had like 4 or 5 knockdowns, toe to toe until the end and a raucous crowd!! It was a great fight!

Excellent points and I see where you are coming from,I thought it was a dumb move from Roman but like you said,it was probably a career high payday but still,he should have insured there was a rematch clause in the contract before the fight or he should stay active, make himself number 1 contender and fight him again, Karmazin can do much better! I don't he;s a great fighter either but I believe he has what it takes to beat Spinks and also,154 is hardly a great division imo!

I guess I am making too many assumptions on Karmazin because apart from those 2 fights,I have not really seen alot of him!

What's even funnier is that the big James Toney was actually skinny enough at one time to fight the small James Toney.

I actually like Cory Spinks. I think I'm the only fan he has on Earth. Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I tell them I like Cory Spinks. Maybe they're on to something.
