nice. rampage is gonna fuck him up.Originally Posted by TheDukeof74
From what I heard, it's already in doubt. Chuck's prolonged case of pneumonia isn't really treating him well, and he hasn't gotten the proper medical attention for it. Pneumonia is no fun, and with only 2 months or so until the fight, that's not a lot of time to recover from the illness AND get himself into peak fighting condition. If the fight DOES happen, we could have a HUGE upset on our hands.

Not taking a run at you bro, but if Quinton gave Chuck a hell of a one sided thrashing of a beatdown basically leaving Liddell with his ass in a sling.. How would Quinton winning the rematch be an upset??Originally Posted by Heavy D

Haven't seen the odds, but I can pretty much guarantee you that Liddell is going to be a HUGE favorite to win this. In each of his rematches to people he's lost, he's been the favorite (Horn and Couture both times, even though Couture beat him the first time pretty much as badly as he just beat Sylvia). The onus is definately on Page in this one...Chuck's hands are just so deadly, and he's only gotten better.
Basically, I've always said that there are two ways to beat Liddell.
1. Completely outbox him. His looping shots are powerful, but also leave him wide open. A good boxer should be able to exploit this easily. And Chuck isn't exactly the biggest on using kicks (not that he's against it, but it's not something I'd worry too much about).
2. Be a good enough boxer to get to the clinch and take him down. And Again. And Again. And again. And...you get the idea.
Basically, Couture followed BOTH points to the word. He completely outboxed Chuck. Chuck got frustrated and got even sloppier. Then Randy took him down. When he stood back up, he outboxed him and took him down. Eventually, he got the mount and ended it. Page, if I remember (it's been a wicked long time since I saw the fight), essentially did the same thing. I haven't seen the Horn fight too comment.
This is (obviously) nowhere near out of Jackson's abililty to accomplish. But the odds are definately against him.

If this fight does go ahead in may I might have a bet on Rampage as I'm not sure if Chuck will be 100% after his illness. If Chuck has recovered I think he has improved a lot more than Rampage has and would KO rampage late in the fight. This fight is just to close to his bout of pneumonia for my liking. The man I expect to stop Chuck sometime down the line is Machida. I don't know how close a Mirko/Chuick fight is. Either way some great fights ahead
I've got the horn fight on my computer somewhere ( I think). Horn secured an arm Triangle from the bottom and Chuck went to sleep. Can't remember how the fight went to the ground of the top of my head
Knowing Horn, he probably pulled guard. If that's the case, I don't see that working again (didn't in their rematch, at least). Chucks knows where he is strong and where he is weak. His biggest assest thus far isn't his heavy hands, though, it's his ability to keep the fight where he wants it....standing.
But depending on Chuck's condition....I may place an early bet on Rampage just because Chuck is FAR from 100% right now and will have a terrible time getting there if he isn't already recovered from the pneumonia.

I've been holding off on chiming in on this topic. Chuck is one of my favorite fighters and I have to say, Page, more than any other fighter out there makes me nervous. I think Chuck is a better fighter now and to me Quinton hasn't looked the same since the beatings by Silva. All that being said he is freakishly strong and has felt Chuck's power in the past w/o being ko'd. I truly hope that Chuck prevails, buy I won't be making any brash predictions. Rampage is simply exactly the kind of fighter built to beat Chuck. I'd like to see Chuck avenge his loss and fight two more fights consisting of some combination of Dan Henderson/ Wanderlei/ Shogun then retire.

Rampage aint the same fighter since those knees from Silva, and Chuck's only gotten better. Rampage aint Rampage anymore, so Chuck could win this time.
having the fight in the octagon with 5 minute rounds will also help Chuck's style

Chuck has come a thousand miles since his loss to Rampage and rampage is now looking slightly jaded since his loss to wandy.
I think chuck will prevail but its a fight i, along with everyone else in the MMA world will be looking forward to.
cc munk.
if rampage can manage to get past chuck's right hand, then chuck's in a bit of trouble with his slams. but that's a very tall order. babalu tried and got killed. randy couldn't do it either and he's a world class wrestler.
