Wow you think that highly of Margarito? I think Cotto stops him in the first.Originally Posted by SalTheButcher

I give it 6 Cotto's will have a hard time getting to Margarito through all those wild punches, but Tony will tire and Cotto will punch a hole through his liver.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I said 7Cotto will wear Margarito out to the body mercilessly like Sheep said.... After that the hands will drop and it will be a Tko set up by a fierce Left to the body
I believe the name of this thread is should be..."What round will Cotto get KTFO by Margarito?"
I say Round 11.
Margarito RARELY if ever tires. Cotto is faster than Tony but he's never fought at Tony's pace before. Also,Tony will be banging to his body too,no one has done that to Cotto.
Margarito has been waiting for this fight for years,a big fight,a big name,if he loses,he's not getting stopped. They are both my boys but I think Margarito is going to wear Cotto down big time, even if Cotto does not have to take rounds like at 140,he'll never have seen anything close to Tony's workrate.
Cotto needs to go to the body as much as possible but he'll need to get inside, where Margarito will use counters over his hook to the npdy and his uppercuts which have power in both the left and right hand.
So basically what I'm saying is what you guys have posted is umm...bullshit![]()
(I still love you guys!)
in a battle of a c- fighter (margarito) vs. a b- fighter (cotto) i pick cotto by ko in the 8th. there will be action and it will be an entertaining fight (due to the lack of defence, boxing ability, power, footwork, and technique by margarito) im just not completely sold on cotto yet. people question williams resume, but look at these two............... espically the way cotto has struggled with such weak opposition in the past and margarito has now been reduced to nothing more than a punchline of an overrated journeyman boxing joke told by quality atheletes across the world
neither one of these guys are very good, and the winner of this fight is gonna be nothing more than a paycheck for paul williams
I think its all over for Tony in the 6th round. A left hook to the body then a hook upstairs. Margarito falls and makes the ten count. Cotto doesn't go crazy instead he stalks Tony who then gets caught with another body shot. This time the ref counts to ten and ITS ALL OVER!!!![]()

Cotto and Margarito are the 2 best WW on the planet and between them, would totally KTFO everyone else. And their resumes are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR superior tO Williams. Cotto struggled with such weak opposition, like who? And if you think Margarito is a journeymen, you either need to actually watch one of his fights or learn more about boxing and what a journeymen is.
Honestly, dude, your points are ridiculous!!! You have a stressful day or something>?
I think you're seriously underestimating both fighters.Originally Posted by frozensolid_702
Anyway..... Margarito's a tough S.O.B., but has slow hands. So I say Cotto takes him out in 7.
Margarito makes up for the slow hands with the volume and placement of his punches.Originally Posted by TitoFan
True enough. I've seen some of his fights and he does throw a lot of accurate punches. But his slow hand speed was very evident in his last fight, where he looked to be in trouble against a faster, hard-punching opponent.Originally Posted by El Gamo
I agree,he looked AWFUL in his last fight, but he was carrying a wrist and ankle injury so his punches lacked snap and he could not sit on them properly.6 Heads and Martinez had fast hands too,and although they are NOWHERE near Cotto's level, the fights do show how Margarito can negate the speed whereas Miguel is going to find Tony's activity and awkward angles diffcult.Originally Posted by TitoFan
I think Tony brings more challenges for Cotto to negate than Cotto does for Tony.
