Floyd Sr says something like this: "What I'm asking for is nowhere near what he's going to make. There's too much money for me to take chits and bits." $ 2, 000, 000! Time to get canned.

no way...he is one of the top trainers out there and 10% is the low end going rate.....How much is ODLH makingOriginally Posted by Ted The Bull
25 mil minimum...so anything under 2.5 mil is a slap in the face.....and you know ODLH is making way more than that..
It feels good to be back home.

It a huge event. Everyone involved should reap the rewards. How De La Hoya can ask someone to train him for this huge PPV extravaganza and not give said trainer a decent paycheck for his effort is beyond my thinking.
Mayweather asked for two million so meet him halfway and give him 1 million. Don't offer "500,000 now and 500,000 if I win" especially when you know you have zero chance of winning.
If he doesn't want to share his money with someone then don't use a trainer. If Mayweather Sr. himself is the problem then just say your going with someone else for that reason and pay the new trainer a million.
$500,000 is a slap in the face.
I reckon theres probably more to this than money, its gotta be difficult for Mayweather to tran someone to beat his own son even if they dont get on. There must be more behind this split but I doubt we'll here much more about it, at least until after the fight.
The money sounds like a good excuse to get rid of Mayweather. I don't think Floyd Snr would be dependable for the fight.
Oscar will do just fine without him.
I don't think $500k is a slap in the face. That's serious money for a couple of month's work. I've got friends getting shot at in Iraq for about 9% of that $550k.
I think FloydSR. is overrated anyway. It's not like he taught ODH how to fight. ODH was already on top of his game, and has had many big name trainers. Also you could argue that the results since being trained by FloydSr. are when he took his losses. Sturm? Hopkins, Mosley, etc.... As long as FloydSr. and Jr. have been apart, I don't think he has any special insight on how to beat PBFjr. Sr. hasn't trained Jr. for 10 years or so.... Plus Floyd fights off his athleticism so it's not like it's ALL technique. I still say if ODH lands a few solid shots, PBF can't take his power. As long as ODH is in shape, it doesn't matter who trains him, this isn't gonna be a boxing match for ODH, he has to punish PBF to win it. Jack Mosley can get him ready just as well as anyone. Roach has his hands full right now, I think Jack is the one.

Oscar FIRES Mayweather Sr. Adios Amigo....................
I'd train ODLH for $499,999.00 and I wouldn't consider it a slap in the face
Going into round 12
ODLH: I can't get past his guard
KS: UM, want some water?
ODLH: My legs are tired
KS: Yeah it's been a rough fight, want some water?
ODLH: You are useless
KS: Yeah, you want some water?

ODLH: Why aren't you helping me
KS: I took that $499,999 and put it on Mayweather.

While I don't agree that Floydsr should have asked for 2 Million, most boxers pay their trainers 10% of the purse. De La Hoya after it's all said and done will probably make 25 Million+ for this fight and 20 Million+ is guaranteed. ODLH offering Floydsr basically 500,000 is ludacris and putting that 500,000 bonus for beating PBF is insulting. It's basically implying that ODLH doesn't feel Floydsr is gonna put 100% into training him, but Floydsr can't get into the ring, only ODLH can do that. Oscar should have given the guy whose trained him for the longest time now a million dollars straight up with no clauses and called it a day. Oscar is a little scumbag. Have fun training with Jack Mosley, the worst in-fight adviser amongst all big time trainers or Freddie Roach who will be too busy with Manny Pacquiao and other fighters.
only in vegas? wow can't go anywhere in the uk without seeing a high street bookie, great ^^Originally Posted by killersheep
