Default ^Vivian Harris vs. Juan Lazcano^

I just finished watching the fight again, I sware I bet Lazcano is slapping the shit! out of himself for not fighting / not going after Harris in the 11th & 12th...

This was his last oppourtunity IMO as I don't think he'll get another title shot soon, unless one of the champs just trys to use him as a none-mandatory fight....

What did you think about the fight?

Vivian Harris WILL loose his title if and when he fights any of the top guys his conditioning is a HUGE factor here.....

As I watched the 11th & 12th rd. I couldn't help it but think when Lazcano re-watches the fight and realises would he have kept busy in those 2 rds. he could have very possibly walked out as the champ.

Well, I was watching the fight with my dad and mom and he and she would point out that just about 90 percent of the body combinations Lazcano was low blowing Harris and the ref didnt do squatt till the final round.

My opinion, yeah he was a little dirty that night. But Harris still won.

That ref didnt do anything while the low blows were happening, he gave a few minor warning of keep em up. He never stopped and said next time I am taking a point he just took the point. Very bad call I think, it wouldnt have effected the outcome but it was still bad. I agree Lazcano must be kicking himself, it was even going into the last two rounds. One card had him up at that point. Another thing...Emmanuel Steward can find a way to mispronounce anyones name. He called Lazcano Lacanzo a few times, and hes good for at least 1 per show

I think the ref. wasn't seeing most of them as both Lazcano & Harris were both bent forward, but yeah! some of those punches were below the belt line.

Yeah! forgot to mention one of the judges had him ahead....
As the bell sounded to begin the 11th I thought I was gonna see Lazcano come out and at least get in there and smother Harris but all he did was stay outside and got hit with the jab.....

I think he should change his name to the Juan 'The Hispanic, who didn't have it' Lazcano
I like Juan but it pissed me off to see him not fight the last 2 rounds of the fight.

Yeah some of those were low, I mean Harris even complaining to the ref when his mouthpiece was out and even had a discussion with the HBO crew.

Anyway Harris is hard headed, he could have won the fight easily if he used his jab and stayed on the outside but for some reason he decided he wanted to go toe to toe sometimes with Lazcano. Luckily it didnt cost him the fight nor break him mentally, but seriously, why make the fight harder for yourself?

The rounds he fought at a distance yes. But when he was in close he wasn't impressive but he was exciting

Tony Weeks was horrible. I mean yes there were some punches below the belt line throughout the fight, although a lot were very borderline, really hitting the belt, but it doesn't matter, you have to warn a guy more seriously before you take a point away. Totally inconsistent job by him.

And Vivian, I don't know, I mean he's not talentless, but he's a head case. Lazcano had almost no chance when Vivian was jabbing and moving but he would just go back inside. Although I don't think its all just him being an idiot, his stamina's shit and I think that he doesn't think he can jab and move for 12 rounds, that he just doesn't have enough energy to do it.

I agree with you 100%, if Lazcano would have pressed the action more, he very well could have had Harris in REAL trouble. Harris's style is a perfect one to be destroyed by someone like Ricky Hatton, a pressure fighter. I think anyone that can consistently penetrate past Harris's jab can really clean house on him. He looked very clumsy going backwards to me.

Harris will be beat soon, I like how Manny S. for his life was trying to make Harris look good it's not untill he saw Lazacano geting in there that he switched it up...
    LMAO!!!

Very true, any pressure fighter would destroy him, any fighter that can fight 12 full rounds....

After watching this fight, I can say that Vivian Harris will never get it right. He reminds me of Zab Judah a little. His corner was telling him what to do and he just wouldn't do it. It was frustrating as hell. He's got all the physical tools to even be really effective at 147, but the guy has got problems with authority and reality and soon enough he'll get the big fight he wants, and he'll be knocked out.

I remember Harris was very disrespectful to Kostya Tszyu, talking all kind of bullshit looking down on Tszyu , I believe Harris's fought a week later and got his ass cashed vs Carlos Maussa. I love it !

Too funny, but joking aside Hatton would blow him out inside of 6 rds.
The kind of inside fighting Hatton does is 5 times stronger and effective then Lazcanos....
