Default Amir Khan vs. Paulie Malignaggi

I'd have to go with Khan by UD on this one. Even though Paulie is very fast, he has shown that he is very hittable.

Blimey! You come up with some funny fights

Paulie held his own against Cotto. Khan hasn't even fought the best of British yet let alone world class.

You mean Paulie held Cotto on his own.

Some way off seeing Khan at light welterweight let alone at a world level.

I think the interesting speculative fights for Khan are Thaxton, Earl, Johannseson and Mitchell, with maybe Alex Arthur further down the line.

I reckon he will get Thaxton either at the end of the year or the beginning of next year and will own him really badly.

2008 should see him in with the likes of Earl and Mitchell.

I think he destroys Earl and he's probably too big and strong for Motchell.

Johhaneson would be a great matchup though, you Carl would really tear into him. That fight wouldn't be going to points.

Not that far off seeing him at Lightwelter, he has weighed in at 137-138 for most of his matches, his last fight was the first one that he made it under 135.

    He was visibly bigger saturday
That really was a cracking punch, delivered perfectly,i just don't see a lot of fighters standing up to that and then you have his ringskills etc on top of that.

at this point in time paulie would school amir.
kahn wouldnt no what to do against a fighter that could actually box exceptionally well, which paulie can. plus the magic man has a pretty good chin to!

I think this could really be on the cards in a year maybe two. If both men get through their fight and Khan gets some bigger names on his record i dont see why this fight doesnt happen. It would be a big fight and i dont no who to favour. it depends how they get on in training etc, i think it would be a good one to watch

    No way khan beats malignaggi...

Khan's chin has never been tested.. And althogh we know malignaggi is no banger.. I think given time buddy can help malignaggi with his power..

You mentioned that malignaggi is very hittable.. Wel..Thats not true..You just assume because paulie used the wrong game plan against cotto and traded he is hittable.. He proved both against camerena and this weekend that he can box peoples socks off.. Also yes amir has some power..He showed it saturday night..But power against bums and after seeing malignaggi take what cotto..And absolute beastly puncher can dish out.. I couldnt see khan denting paulie

If we were to say prime for prime paulie vs amir.. Then i might say well..Amir has a shot But thats assuming amir becomes a great pro and sticks on the strait and narrow..Maybe lands a big time trainer..
On the other hand..Paulie is up there now.. He might not have peaked himself yet.. He cant change that much cos he's got his habits after having fought over twenty pro fights with the same style..
But if buddy can do big things for paulie he could get better and better...

    Peace

wayyyyy to soon to even consider this fight - Khan has still got alot to do, fight better people before we can truly see how good he is, right now he is looking a massive prospect, but at world level is a few more years away.

why are people saying Khan would knockout Malignaggi, unless you insinuate that Khan is a bigger puncher at 140 then Cotto was

Well to early to try to match these two together. Khan has virtually no good opposition experience. if this were to happen the advantage goes to Malignaggi with a good boxing showing against Khan. Who knows maybe later on things will look different but for now thats how it is.

All Khan has to do to win a world title is avoid Michael Katsidis!
