Watching Delahoya Vs Mayorga again..... and I'm thinking

I cant help but notice the way Oscar is standing very upright than usual he would seem more open... Jim Lampley was commenting, saying that Oscar claims he is standing straighter than ever and can better see punches coming....

He dosent seem to be in good athletic position this way, and the way FLoyd fights Delahoya seems to be more open for Mayweathers Straight right, Maybe he is just fighting this way cause its Mayorga but he looks real stiff in there... Also Oscar handspeed dosent look so pronounced of course you lose that with age, but just observations...

Oscar was looking good in the first six rounds. Oscar was the smaller man & he went toe to toe with Hopkins & was firing from all angles & showed good form. I think that a debdicated Oscar will give Floyd the fight of his life.

I've followed both of them for the duration of their pro careers & I honestly can't see how anyone thinks that this fight is either going to be a tactical bore or that Floyd will run from Oscar.

The fight has great written all over it.

I agree but, there are some things to be considered in terms of style matchups... I think this fight has memorable written all over it, Oscar is a Modern day great balls to the wall duck no one bring em all on win, lose or draw I leave my mark on the sport kinda guy...Floyd is a technically polished defensive wizard with a phenomenal ring intelligence, operating at a high level and in his prime.... THIS FIGHT WILL BE A GREAT ONE

While I agree that it will be a memorable one...I just can't settle in on how it's gonna go.

I'll be on the edge of my seat in anticipation the entire night though. Can't wait to sit ringside for this one in the Garden. Talk about balls to the walls...that place is going to be hyped & hectic. I plain on filling up as many memory cards on the Canon as possible.

I'm still curious as to how well Floyd is going to handle the weight. .Floyd’s only like 5 feet 8 and he’s a small 5’8” at that. He doesn’t, IWO, have a lot of room to grow & fill. Oscar’s almost 6’ with a totally different frame & can handle all the weight hopping.

It’s gonna catch up to Floyd eventually.

Oscar is going to be able to fight his fight because Mayweather isnt really aggesive fighter so much as a patience fighter who waits for openings and takes them he, while fighting in and out. Oscar has trouble with fighters like Mosley who bring the fight to him and throw a relentless amout of punches while moving foward. Floyd doesnt go foard as much as side to side.He makes some mistakes too. Sometimes he leapes in to attack and leaves his chin exposed and he also fights off the ropes which isnt something you want to do against Oscar. Both guys have solid chins so I think the fight will go the distance with Oscar being the aggressor and winning early and Floyd turning it on late only for Oscar to win the last round be and leave an immpression in the judges minds. Oscar will win a unanimous or majority decision.

I'm not sure how much Oscar's handspeed has slowed down, but it seems more to me he is putting more emphasis on each punching, and following through more than in his younger years which makes his hands seem slower than they actually are. He still throws quick combinations.

One thing weve gota remember is that for the last few years , Oscar has been trying to box like Floyd . Mayweather Snr has been adapting his style and I dont think it has ever suited him , especially when he tried to be assertive against Sturm . That style of boxing doesnt come naturally to Oscar and even Mayorga landed a few past his cross arm guard.

In this fight Oscar wont be boxing like that so it makes all the difference to his poise . He wont be stand upright and wont be leaning back either . I expect him to be parrying alot of shots vs Floyd .

The problem with Oscar standing straight up is that Floyd can catch him with the jab to the stomach which nobody has ever thrown better. Oscar like in the Ring Magazine if he has a durability weakness its his body, and standing up straight against a gun slinger like Mayorga is one thing, but to stand straight up against Mayweather could cause problems.

I'm for Oscar but I don't see him winning it in the last round. If it is that close, then they've both been working hard. Floyd will stick and run for points while Oscar will be tuckered and lumbering in comparison.

He's gonna have to have the game well in hand before the last round ... might need the last round as a give-away.
