I was into it when I was a kid. Then my kid got into it. Then he went off to college so now I'm back into it. It's actually alot of fun. I have a community tank, no breeding or any of that stuff.
yea i see your oscar there, how many oscars do you have? i use to have many of them. i had a pair of albino tiger oscars, i bred them a few times until my male got sick from a feeder fish. he didn't recover and ended up dead. my female got lonely and i tried my other oscar to pair up with her but she decline them all. i guess its true when they say oscar pair stay together forever. oscar are great fish but they can grow rapidly. thats good your going to update your fish tank for your oscar.Originally Posted by Troy McClure
how much are you selling it for, maybe i can help you sell it. what state are you in by the way? yea man its a great hobby, feeding time is fun. our first fish were pirahnas so yea you already know we had lots of fun with piranhas.Originally Posted by Troy McClure
yea it is a lot of fun, what kinds of fish do you have in your community tank by the way? you can have plenty of different kinds of fish that would naturaly breed on their own in a community tank. i started of as a kid with mollies swordfish guppies, and they would make lots and lost of babies.Originally Posted by Canvasback
I have bred;
bettas(fighting fish)
blank convicts
pink convicts
oscars
green terror
flowerhorn
angelfish
i've been pretty successfull in breeding. its actually suprising how much income you can get from breeding.
Right now i have;
a group of clown loachs, they are prolly a year old. their size range from 4-6 inches and still getting bigger but slowly.
two young green terrors, i'm hoping one is male one is female. i'm sure i have a male but i'm not yet sure about my other one if its a female but so far i think it is.
i have a pair of pink convicts. they just bred and im still raising the babies.
i have a tiger pleco, very nice color he schools with my clown loaches.
I had two arowanas but i just sold my 15 inch silver arowana just a few days ago, now i have my beautifull jardini left. his a bully but his my favorite of all.
I'll try to post some pics when i can to show you guys by tanks.![]()
I tend to stick with the egg bearers now. We had some guppies and mollies and it wasn't uncommon to get up in the morning and find like 20 baby fish hiding in the plants. Mostly now I have neons, zebras, pearl danios and an old upsidedown catfish. I occassionally catch my cat (who's name is Dempsey, or course) sitting and staring at the fish. He's probably wondering how he can get into the aquarium and have some fresh fish. It's a great hobby and a very attractive addition to a room.
yes a great addition to any roomOriginally Posted by Canvasback
