F*** all !
Oscar tired badly fought in spurts and yet after all the big talk of confrontation and a massacre , Floyd went MIA as soon as Oscar managed to rouse himself when he got a secnd wind .
Mayweather is a deluded conman he never at anytime tried to initiate anything and was content to let Old Oscar punch himself out , luckily for Floyd the Fraud his gamble paid off !!
Mayweather has no bottle ,no bollocks and no right to ever ever ever mentioned in the same breath as Sugar Ray Lenord .
The look of concern of Floyd's face through 2,3 and 4 said it all !
Sugar Shane Mosely moved up from lighweight in his 2nd fight at Welter Raliied and tore the World Championship away from De la hoya , what if he'd retired after that fight ?
Mayweather is a complete crock and a conman !
So let me get this straight, he didnt really win the fight because he had a look of concern on his face during it? He didnt steal any decision. Oscar did very well for what I expected of him. I scored it (and I believe i am a very fair and unbiased scorer as I like both fighters and would have welcomed a DLH upset as much as the expected PBF victory) 117-114 with 6 rounds to 3 for Floyd and 3 (yes 3...some of those rounds were close!) even rounds.
I do agree with you that it sucks if Floyd retires but who are we to lay criticism if the guy's hands are as messed up as he says? it sucks having to shoot your hands up with novocaine before a fight just so you can deal with all the damage that has been done to all the fragile bones in there. Some people are more delicate than others in the skeletal/bone department so you cant really hold it against him if his (or any fighters') hands are not holding up through all the constant damage and impacts they must withstand.
Other than the early retirement thing (and really, let's believe that when we see it as Im sure this is not the last we have heard from Floyd Mayweather jr)...you should give Mayweather credit where credit is due. He clearly outboxed Oscar in an entertaining bout where he was clearly the smaller guy, and really, I think both fighters deserve props for their efforts. Oscar at this point in his career; all the respect in the world for going out taking on the best. This was entertaining and competitive but there should have been no split decision IMO. Oscar did not do enough to warrant one. In fact he did little after the first half of the fight was over and looked clearly outworked in the final rounds.
Sorry your boy lost. But dont take the victory away from Mayweather because of it. Oscar too, beat many people's heroes when they were far past their prime...and Oscar wasnt that far past his...
