Default 90s vs 2000s WW Quarterfinals Pernell Whitaker vs Miguel Angel Cotto

Whitaker had no problem in schooling the young Cory Spinks in the first round in what was tense chessmatch all the way through. No he faces an unstopable force that is Miguel Cotto. "This will be easy as taking candy from a baby. He ain't even gonna touch me" says Whitaker in a pre fight interview.

Cotto went through a rocky start but piled on his relentless pressure to stop Campas in his tracks late in the fight. Can his sheer force of will and bodypunching relentlessness be enough to stop Sweet pea. "Whitaker is a great fighter, but this is my time. You will see how much I can touch him" Replied Cotto.

Whitaker, too much skill, speed and awkwardness for Cotto

This was a tough one for me to call, while it would be easy for Whitaker to outbox Cotto,
it doesn't take much from Cotto to turn a fight around.

Still I assume Whitaker takes a wide UD
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I think Cotto would give him a real tough fight. Similar to Chavez. But most agree that Whitaker beat Chavez so Whitaker should take this one.

Chavez never gave Whitaker a tough fight and Cotto isn't Chavez.

I could say Pernell by UD but I asell could see Cotto cutting that ring in 1/4 of it size with rib braking combinations to he head and boddy.

you can move your head but not the buddy that fast and we are talking about Cotto.

Chavez was easily as good a body puncher as Cotto is. Not to mention better all around.. Whittaker didn't seem to take to many rib breaking combinations in that fight...

How many does he needs. remember Quintana? ( and please some of you I'm not comparing him with Whitaker)
one blow could change the fight. I voted for Whitaker but not like landslide like some say.

Cotto not quite in his prime and still a little green, ill go pernell but in a couple yrs time with a more seasoned cotto could be a different story.
