Good power.
good adaptability.
All round top fight.

Depends on where it is. As is abundantly clear, if Pavlik fought Taylor in Arkansas, it won't matter if it's the most one sided fight were Kelly knocks him down ten times, if we go to points, Taylor gets the decision.

that is the first time i saw the ghost on the weekend and i was very impressed, i think he stands a good chance of beating taylor however i dont think he will. Taylor has alot more about him than Miranda, to me it seemed Miranda is 1 dimensional and cant change his strategy if being put on the backfoot, the only style he can fight is coming forward. Pavlik however was brilliant but i dont think he would be able to back Taylor up like that, Miranda never used his jab and we all know that Taylor has a very good jab and i think the outcome of the fight would be dependant on Taylors jab, however i dont know if pavlik has a good enough jab as Taylor as i have not seen him enough

Agreed. IWO, Taylor has become quite comfortable & complacent in his status as HBO pretty much solidifies a win the moment that he climbs through the ropes no matter how little or how much he does.

I have had my eye on Kelly Pavlik for more than two years and I just did not see this coming. The Ghost is hungry and very destructive. Let's hope he stays hungry and takes out JT. I am not a fan of the Ghost but I would like him much better as a champion than JT any day of the year. I was pretty wrong about the ghost.
Is it me or is JT like Calzaghe who fights down to his opponents? Maybe JT and Calzaghe were ment for each other.

First of all, congrats to Pavlik. I had picked him to lose. But: I thought Miranda looked absolutely horrible, and didn't seem to have any pop on his shots even in the first round. A lot of that was clearly due to the fact Pavlik was backing him up the whole time, but still: I thought both guys looked very sloppy--except Pavlik was actually very accurate when it came time to finish/knock down Miranda. So--he's exciting to watch, and obviously has good power, so he's got a shot against Taylor, but I'd still pick Taylor because, as boring, horrible, and unbalanced as he is, I still think he's a level or two above Pavlik in terms of technique. But I've now changed my Calzaghe/Taylor vote to Calzaghe.

Miranda was made for Pavlik, something that should have been abundantly clear beforehand but strangely people believed the Miranda hype.

Now I feel they will start massively overinflating Pavlik now as well.

Taylor vs Pavlik is a very close figh imo. Pavlik comes to fight and isn't hard to hit, Taylor will have no trouble landing. And we've seen against Hoplins that Taylor can also play the elusive game as well. I could see him winning this fight. I wouldn't bet a lot on it as it's virtually a pickem but I say Taylor could pull it off.

You are right Bilbo. Pavlik is hittable. I will go a step foward and say that Pavlik will make Taylor look good. Pavlik was very susceptible to the right hand (which is Taylor's best punch), but Miranda just didn't have the steam and the crisp punches necessary to make is sting and make Pavlik defensive. Funny thing is, Miranda landed 3 right hands in a row and Pavlik did not back up but kept coming forward. I don't see Pavlik still coming foward after Taylor lands 3 straight right hands.

Miranda doesn't give you much to adapt to man. Taylor is a completely different style. And I'd like to see how Pavlik deals with another boxer with a better jab then his instead of someone who wings his shots and still finds way to land on him. Taylor uses his length better then Miranda does and has a better jab too. I think its completely different styles. And Pavlik is no Spinks either.
