Default PBF vs. Taylor, who wins at 160?

I'm personally voting Floyd by decision. I had previously thought Taylor was way too big for Floyd, but seeing how he has no ability whatsoever to cut off the ring against a slick and defensive boxer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd come in at 150 and Taylor at 170 on fight night and end up with a WIDE UD for Floyd. I thought Taylor beat Spinks, but Floyd is faster than Taylor, has better defense, and would land more punches. I'm a big PBF fan, and I'd love to see him make some history with a MW title, but it would be boring, for sure.

    It will never happen.

I actually think Taylor would win though. Remember Floyd can be as elusive as Spinks no problem but in case anybody didn't notice being 'elusive' lost Spinks the fight.

If Floyd actually wanted to win he'd be forced to engage with Taylor and being a lot smaller than even Spinks this would be his undoing.

He wouldn't win and the fight won't happen. To be honest whoever Jermain fights in future I'm sure his promoter won't allow it to be another ultra defensive, quick, slick welterweight.

....you know landing SOME punches could have done Spinks some good Bilbo.

I mean Spinks was ellusive.....but this is boxing, not TAG...you do have to LAND some punches

So I take it you are in agreement with me that Jermain did win the fight, albiet in a horribly poor way?

The fight I watched Spinks hit JT many more times than vice versa. I don't buy the punch track numbers for a minute.
If I didn't value my time so much I would watch the fight again, but seeing as how I want the hour of my life back
from watching it the first time.

    FLOYD WIDE UD.

Agreed...same way he beat Kassim Ouma

Which is a fucking shame because I think everyone knows Jermain has skills it's just every fight you watch you feel what Manny Steward feels which can only be expressed as....

    "WHAT THE FUCK JERMAIN?!?!"

Floyd is a great athlete, and that's the reason he has been able to move up to two divisions in which he was undersized (147,154) and win titles. But this would be way to much, and once he felt the power of somebody ass strong as Taylor he would regret getting in the ring, I don't care how good his defense is.

But didn't Spinks just take Taylor the distance? The guy who crumbled under a welterweight's power? Floyd is very elusive and has a hell of a chin. He wouldn't have a problem with Taylor's power imo. The problem is that De La Hoya showed an active jab gives Floyd problems. I would have to see the Spinks fight but this one is interesting, it might really be to much for Floyd. Size alone doesn't win fights though.

Very good points, but Spinks took Taylor the distance and made the fight close, he did not win. The question was who would win at 160. Besides Spinks has grown with age over the last couple of years, Floyd has not he just has bulked up from wieghts not natural body frame. If Floyd could go to 160 and beat either Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda, etc I think he would become a top 5 boxer of all time.

Yeah but Mayweather > Spinks. I don't know if Mayweather is capable of that, but if Spinks almost did it, you have to tip the chances to Floyd actually getting the job done.

I honestly think Floyd would win it in theory, but he would get robbed. it would be a boring fight and he would land more punches but those punches wouldnt be impressive, they would not hurt or jar Taylor and so the judges might not even count a lot of them as landing or telling punches. So i think Taylor would pull off probably a unworthy split decision just because he would be coming forward and trying to cut off the ring against Mayweather the whole time, but wouldnt be able to get the job done. Mayweather's footwork is too good and his hands are fast enough to nail JT coming in. So although I think he would deserve the win and get the job done, Floyd would get robbed because he ultimately would not be able to do enough damage or hurt Taylor bad enough to convincingly beat his ass. A lot like the first James Toney-Samuel Peter fight (but much much sharper and quicker).
