    Default footwork for left jab?

I was wondering if someone can tell me what the correct footwork should be for the left jab,I am happy enough with the stepping jab and pushing off the back foot but i'm a bit unsure what my feet should be doing if i'm not stepping? What i notice when i try to jab without advancing forward is that i have a tendency to want to lift my front heel and my back foot sort of pivots sharply in a clock wise direction,So am i doing it wrong coz from what i can tell i dont see fighters lifting their front heel when jabbing ??....any advice would be much appreciated!

The way i stand when i jab without stepping my backfoot doesn't move instead of having your right foot pivot in a clockwise direction try and get your front foot to do that. Just like your squishing out a cigarette butt on the floor. i find this helps me turn my whole body around so im more side on ( leaving a smaller target for him to hit ) and lets my jab get its full extended reach.
If that was a bit confusing tell me and i'll coem on a bit later and try make ti easier to understand

Ok yeah that makes sense so the back foot stays anchored and the front foot pivots...Thanks man i'll work on keeping that back foot planted

Dont keep it like..try keep your heel off the ground a bit. i dont think you'd want that heel on the floor Cause if he gets through your jab it'll be harder for you to bounce away

Always try to be on the ball of your foot. it makes it easier for you to side step move backwards or fowards and throw punches. if your flat footed all the time chances are you'll be caught off balance
