As usual, the superfight Calzaghe is craving just isn't there to be made. Of his possible oponents, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr are way past their best, Jermaine Taylor isn't exactly good box office at the moment (plus I think he'll be pressured into a fight with Pavlik), another fight with Manfredo would not prove anything as P.M. Jr. was so poor in the first fight... which just leaves Kessler. It would be a good fight for Calzaghe to win as he will virtually unify the division, but how much interest will it generate outside of Europe? Not much I think. It could hardly be put into the superfight bracket. Just thinking outside the square slightly - with a long term view.... why not try to make a fight at light-heavy with Clinton Woods (which would have a lot of interest in the UK), whereby Calzaghe (assuming he won) would then achieve an ambition of becoming a two-weight champion plus would hold a respectable version of the world title to make a match up at light heavy with the likes of Tarver, Glen Johnstone (or even the aforementioned Roy Jones Jr. or Bernard Hopkins) all of whom can still sell tickets Stateside.

Although.... I don't know whether it'll be before or after the Manfredo fight comes out on ESPN Classic.

I voted a new Manfredo aswell, the fight there which makes the sense is against Kessler, if not against him id like Calzaghe to go for Taylor as i think hes there for the taking imo.

Its a farce. It really is. It would be a very convenient time for Frank Warren to die of a heart attack! :P
