Ive never tried them because they look sort of restrictive - although I really shouldn't have my mouth open a lot anyway. Breathing channels big enough then?

Never had to dodge out to check my mouthpiece, was gusting out properly on every punch,it was like finding an entirely new gear.

CC Monkey - It sounds good! maybe time for me to invest in a new mouthguard soon - I've had my current one for more than 6 years - used it for hockey before taking up kickboxing - so I'm sure my mouth has changed shape a bit - I'm kinda sentimental about that mouthguard though - we've been through so much together!!!

Hmmm....I wonder if you can get a mouthpiece bronzed....like a pair of baby shoes?
I find that the breathing channels are plenty big enough to allow excellent air exchange.
Not to mention, I discovered during sparring that you can spray liberal amounts of drool onto your opponent's face through the air channel. My sparring partner at the gym I go to once a week did that to me (I'm almost positive it was by accident). I had to move back a bit and wipe my face on my sleeve all the while thinking, 'Damn, man! That was really gross....I gotta keep that in mind.'
Err, not that I would every suggest anything like that or anything.

Lol.... yeah I have one and drool worse than my dog in the ring, especially if a good hook gets me. Now if they made that channel big enough, you wouldnt even have to open your mouth for water.

I see what you mean about drool - but I have to confess to grosser things - I have a big nose - it's great because I figure if I don't block the punch there's a bit of suspension in it and it lessens the shock to my brain.

Only thing is once or twice in sparring I've failed to avoid getting hit and ended up with booger on my face - literally! At least I didn't share! Tricky bit is wiping it off without anyone noticing - not so easy with sparring gloves on unfortunately! - I'd like to add I don't use the gloves to wipe it off - that would just be too gross - bogger on boxing gloves would travel!!!!

Maybe I can use the sprinkler system idea to my advantage sometimes  - No actually I don't think I would - it would be worth too much revenge from my teammates to do that deliberately!

I just got a double mouthguard the other day.

Does everyone elses one cover their gums? My single guard covered my teeth and to the top of my gums
but the double only covers the teeth. That normal?

Yeah well at least with mine it covers my teeth and part of the gumline, but not like with a single mouthguard.
