I was thinking about my perfect fighter once again and i thought about what separates my usual perfect fighter from what i would like for the perfect fighter to have in matching style and other such concepts..
For instance.. You might say.. My textbook perfect fighter would have the boxing skill of Hearns..
But adding your personal spin to it and to make this weird combination of a fitting style you might instead say not whats best but what you would prefer like roy jones, bernard hopkins etc..
Also no limit on weight class..But the sole intention is to match attributes to make a certain style of fighter with the best/your favourite fighters..
So here is mine ..Perhaps seeing it would inspire yours and give you a clearer view of my meaning...
Perfect fighter would..
Have the Footwork and movement speed of Floyd Mayweather Junior..
The Handspeed of Roy Jones Jr
The Defense, Slickness/ Counter punching ability of James Toney
The Punching power Of Thomas Hearns( Welterweight) But for these lists it would be considered the same in a pound for pound manner..
The discipline and fitness of Bernard Hopkins..
The patience/Game plan of Bernard Hopkins..
And then if you would explain the intention and style of your fighter that'd be sweet!
For instance I matched Toney's slickness and counter punching, with bernards patience and the way he doesnt mind going twelve rounds to break down a fighter, with Tommy hearns' Power..
What you come out with is a slick fighter.. Who is hard to hit.. fit enough to go the distance.. Interesting to watch.. And patient enough to fight a whole twlelve rounds while still a good enough counter puncher to catch an opponent with an amazing shot whenever it comes..
I mean..Can you imagine the power of a Hearns strait right (I.e the one that put Duran on his face)
The power of that strait right combined with the counter right hands Toney would give out when on his back foot attempting to set up the punch by throwing something..Leaning away and coming back with the strait right of hearns standards..
Hard to put into words but you see what i mean if you see toney's counter punching against the likes of Jirov, Barkley.. and a couple of early rounds during the first fight with Montell Griffin.. Those are probably my favourite cases anyway..
Hope you all get at me!
Peace
