He sparred with Leonard and matched him move for move apparently, this was around '87 or '88
Gerald McClellan out-boxed Michael Moorer and Sugar Ray on his first-ever day at Kronk!
There was very, very high hopes for Littles, Liles, Jones Jr and McClellan - the 'fab four of the 156lbers'
so roy never out boxed leonard and G MAN DID
G man beat Roy in the amateurs, on more than one occasion.

Says who from all my knowledge him and G-man only fought once, and Leonard wasn't a krunk boxer so that doesn't make sense about him training there.
I guess he meant Tommy Hearns instead of Sugar Ray.
Apparently Roy Sr still has tapes of the Roy Jones/Sugar Ray sparring sessions, according to John Scully.

According to that dude blackburn that did all that great fundraising for gerald. However u are correct they only met in one contest but im led to believe they sparred many times. I should have clarified that im sorry.Originally Posted by Taeth

I have a sparring session on dvd which has Hearns sparring McClelland in April, 1990 in Atlantic City. No one really won. They were both kind of going soft using moves and just working out.
Tito_bhb posted that sparring session (Hearns/McClellan) recently. Should still be around, mayb in the training section tho.

I Could believe Hearns vs. McClellan. If it was Steward who was talking about Roy vs. Gerald besides their one bout which was rumored to be close then I say he was bs'ing. He had a lot more love for Gerald than is healthy.
They may have done it at atlantic city ..But i posted a video of a light exhibition match held at The Kronk GymOriginally Posted by LegendBoxing65

Could be Steward tends to make things up or doesn't remember things how they were.
