    Default was trinidad really great?

i have no doubts that tito was a verey good fighter, but i am undecided yet as to if i think of him as great. he was onl beaten at middleweight, of whjich both fights he was made to look very ordinary. however against de la hoya, who must of gone mad after the 8th round i think he was being boxed out his skin. could tito of ever really beaten a great boxer is what im sayin i guess? de la hoya won theuir fight i think, and im not even sure if i think of himas great either, opinons?

Just because he struggled with a style doesn't make him less great just look at the Tito's resume that says it all he was beaten by two greats of our era Winky and Hopkins and how can you say Hitman wasn't great either he won Welterweight world championship and championships all the way up to Cruiserweight.

I'd say so yes look at the fights he's been in an who he's fought, I think the only big fights that he could have had and didn't were Ike Quartey an SSM, and I think he would have beat Ike an maybe struggled with SSMs speed and lost a decision.

He retired after Wright loss there was nothing left for him he was way above his natural weight and it takes alot out of your confidence i think it was best him retiring.

And the excuse after the Hopkins fight??

Did Hopkins retire after Taylor 1 or 2??...He had nothing left to prove....

Did De la Hoya quit after his losses at higher weights??

Barrera after his KO loss to Pac?

tHEY SUCKED IT UP AND WENT ON.....Don't give me that there was nothing left for him BS....ICB you are smarter then that....

When Tito was winning he had no probs in claiming his greatness...No probs in talking about who he was going through next...I promise if he had not lost he would still be fighting....And if he was there would have been nothing to prove he would have just fought to fight right?

But he retires due to the losses and now it is he had nothing to prove??...He was out of his weight class

HMMM I seem to remember a guy named Mosley who was out of his weight class at 154 and he won titles....lost then dropped down in weight where he was more comfortable......

Pointless thread.Look at his resume. Look at his record. Look at who he lost to(2 LEGENDS). So what if he quit? He lost to 2 greats,it doesnt diminish his legacy, everyone deals with losses differently. Is Ksotya Tszyu legacy diminished because he quit v Hatton? Also,Tito was fighting at a weight he did not really belong to.

If you can look at his record and question whether he was a legend, you need to revise what your criteria is for legend.
