I would rather see the winner of Hatton and Castillo. I personally like this better if it was Hatton. But I would love to see Mayweather as well.

Well if Margarito wins, it's going to be Margarito. That's already agreed upon.

Torres isn't an option. Cotto is going to be fighting big money fights now. Torres isn't a big money fight.

I would add Williams, Dela Hoya, and Mosley on your list.

But for mega-buck fight and lesser bodily harm for Cotto,... I would like to see him against PBF.

It has to be Margo, let's expose this Margo myth for what it is!

It has to be Margarito it's the natural fight for both of them. If he gets past Margarito then Mosely should beckon, win that and Floyd wouldn't be able to avoid fighting him.

Why Hatton and Castillo are on the list is a mystery to me though, why would Cotto want to go backwards?

cotto-margo would be fight of the year canidate
and i think cotto will smoke him

and i think that would bring mayweather out of "retirement"
possibly bring as many viewers as floyd-de la hoya and definatly would be a better fight

Mayweather Cotto wouldn't get anywhere near the figures of Mayweather De La Hoya.

Cotto is a really exciting fighter but Oscar is a living Saint, idolised and revered throughout the Catholic world. His devotees happily pay whatever the costs for the PPV so that when Oscar appears they can touch their television screens and be healed.

    Bilbo: I love the post
with cotto beating margo, cotto would be to the next PR great, still a fresh face, fame rising by the month.. I know it was a real bold statement to say cotto-pbf is close to dlh-pbf but i truelly think cotto will be much more famous a year from now and alot of people will think he can actually beat pbf.. by this time next year i think the fight could be just as big as the pbf-dlh..

of course i might be wrong

This time next year Oscar and Floyd will be fighting again thats guaranteed, after his second successive defeat Oscar will retire (hopefully), build a shrine to himself in Mexico where his simple fans will believe he lives and performs healing miracles whilst disregarding the fact that he is actually still working in boxing as a leech sucking promoter.

athletes already building a legacy of the quiet warrior, pure, mysterious.. refreshing for todays atheltes I'm sure we would all agree..

I feel he has that something to him that "it" factor that might make him the most popular in the sport very soon.. but margo would have to beat p. williams, convincingly would be even better and if cotto in return beat margo in his typical brutal fashion, then i feel like if he works on his head movement and to not lunge in, with his left hand down, when he has someone on the ropes, exposing his avg chin he could beat anyone.. he has endless of mega-fight opportunities lying ahead.. being in the best division in boxing

I just had a thought... i am making a prediction that cotto and berto might be the fight of the year in ohhhhhhhh lets say 2009
and boxing will be bigger than ever

    we can all hope

Hopefully Amir Khan will be big on the world scene then as well. He probably won't be big enough to get to welter, at least not that soon but he should be threatening Ricky Hattons reign at 140 lb by then.

Although to be honest I expect Hatton's end of career route will be Castillo, Torres, and then retirement on 44-0 saying he's already acheived everything he wants and doesn't need another big fight for his legacy,

Definitely Margarito(which is most likely IF Tony beats PW).It would be FOTY and the winner would be the best WW on the planet imo.
