Default Showtime Card: Antonio Tarver Vs. Elvir Muriqi, Chad Dawson Vs. Jesus Ruiz RBR

I see that wacko is doin the Cotto-Judah fight, so since I'm am not getting that PPV, I will be watching this card and checking wackos rbr. Since Im watching it at home I figured I'll do a rbr if no one else wanted to. Looks like this is a possible set-up card for a Tarver-Dawson showdown? Seems like that to me.

Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver: 24-4-0 18 ko's Tarver got his fame by taking 2 out 3 from at the time p4p king Roy Jones Jr. I remember seeing him and I think Jermain Taylor back in the olympics, they looked like the 2 next great champs. He showed his great power in those fights against Roy. He has great reach 75" but is getting up there in age(3 and has about a years worth of ring rust n him. He fights good inside and isnt afraid to trade with anyone. Glen Johnson and Bernard Hopkins beat him as well, he avenged the Johnson loss, but Hopkins was his last fight. Now Hopkins is already out of retirement

Elvir "Kosovo Kid" Muriqi 34-3-0 21 ko's The Kosovo Kid fights out of NY. I have to admit I dont know much about this guy...He looks to have a little power against pretty crappy opposition. Had a very impressive start to his career 30-1 with the one loss beng a dq. Has had some problems lately against average opponents. He is gonna have to get inside on Tarver because Antonio has a big reach advantage.

Dawson fight getting underway, Pre fight talk with tarver. He claims that he wasnt himself that night, I hate when fighters say that. Dawson is in his hometown of Conneticut.
Bad Chad Dawson Vs. Jesus Chuy Ruiz
    Round 1
Dawson comes out in his southpaw Ruiz in orthodox, Dawson has a good quick jab. Good movement by both fighters , Ruiz has a big right hes looking to load up. Dawson lands jab straight left combo. Big rights blocked by Dawson, Dawson won the round with the better jab.
    Dawson 10-9

    Round 2
Floyd Mayweather Sr. is in Dawsons corner. Big lead right glances by dawson. Flurry combo by dawsonRuiz wing a haymaker and misses, missing shot. Dawson is picking away puttin 2 and 3 shots together. Ruiz has no jab, really throws three straight rights off gloves and arms.Dawson is keeping his guard nicely and moving away from the right.
    Dawson 10-9

    Round 3
Ruiz lands a glancing hook, nice exchange dawson got mad, hes back to boxing. Ruiz is looking to make a brawl and dawson wants to keep range.Ruiz lands good right, dawson bombs backNice body shot by Dawson right lead hook to body, Dawson jabs and slips nicely.
Dawson wins on more clean shot, Ruiz had a good power shot land.
    Dawson 10-9

    Dawson 10-9

    Round 5
Chad open with right hooks to head and body, Ruiz actually throws his jab. Dawson throws 5 shots lands about 2 clean. Nice combos from Dawson big right hook to body. Dawsons round again 10-9

    Round 6
Dawson working jab to body and head, countering when Ruiz tries to come in. Backhand gets Dawson a warning.Dawsons d is blocking most of Ruiz punches you can see the Mayweather influence,Dawson is going to work now and landing at will. He got Ruiz on the ropes and just wouldnt stop landing from every angle. Ref has no choice but to stop the fight Ruiz was in trouble. Dawson TKO 6

    Tarver Vs. Muriqi
Wow Muriqi has 3 hotties wearin Kosovo kid shirt..Im talking fine! Pleas show them again.
    Round 1
Tarver sporting the silver gloves. Tarver looks alot taler in the ring. Alot of misses by both fighter feeling each other out. Muriqi trying to get in and work body. Tarver looks sloppy to start, I have to say it was 10-10 due to the fact no one really landed any to take the lead
    Even

    Round 2
Tarver starts out jabbing more, quick left counter by Tarver, Muriqi throw a strong overhand right lead. Good exchanges now they are trading and Tarve gets the best of it.Tarver starts to get cocky dropping his hands and ,muriqi keeps using the right lead, and Tarver is starting to find his counter.. Few low shot from Muriqi, no warning yet.
    Tarver 10-9

    Round 3
Tarver double jabs,Muriqi still tryin to get in alot, and Tarver is keeping his range nice blocking and working his jab looks real comfortable. Few shots land by MuriqiPretty even give and take Muriqi is moving in alot and they are landing about even.
    Even

    Round 4
Tarver is find his rhythm, lands good to start, Muriqi fires back a good shot. Lows shots not gettin warned. Tarver working effectively sticking and moving. Muriqi corners tarve a bit and land good , Tarver retreats and gets back to his safe range.Pretty close round gonna have to give it to Tarver for output. 10-9 Tarver

    40-38 Tarver

    Round 5
Alot better fight than i thought from Elvir, he has decent pop. He is constantly pressing and lands big left. Dominates first minute, Tarver doesnt have power like he used to. At least it looks that way. Cl;ash of heads and some blood on Muriqi. Ref Ortega has doc look, says ok. Cause headbutt.Tarver tries to steal the round but I gave it to Muriqi 10-9
    49-48 Tarver

Round 6 Big exchange and a big left from tarver wakes up the crowd, Muriqi eats it like a snack. Keeps pluggin forward, Tarvers shots look lazy, half hearted almost, maybe hes tired. They both look like they have slowed a bit, another close round Hard shot by Tarver and muriqi pressing hard to call,Even

    59-58 Tarver

    Round 7
Tarve pops the jab land a good one when Elvir ducks his head to lunge in. Elvir is havin trouble gettin in. Tarver jab right hook combo, nice straight left by tarver. Weak flurry, lands for tarver. Tarver is just working the jab straight left all day this round. When hes done that Muriqi cant solve it. Tarver takes tthe round 10-9

    Round 8
The cut doesnt seem a factor, Muriqi starts using his jab to get in, doubling up. Big left off a feint by Tarver. Muriq is game i give him that. Big right from Elvir and tarver unleashes a nice flurry scoring big, 3 shot. Uppercut from Tarver. Tarver is stepping it up this round., switches stances, fighting orthodox ends the round fighting ortho.
    Tarver 10-9

    Round 9
Muriqis corner is telling him to make it a dogfight. Tarvers is talking combos and movement afterwards. Trade jabs from distance,The ring seems wet the are both slipping a bit, Not alot of action so far Elvir working inside as usual, he seems to be a bit gassed out, his mouth is open a bit. Sloppy round but Tarver had the edge in output again. Tarver 10-9
89-85 if my math is right Tarver
    Round 10
tarver starts off the round fast and hurts Muriqi a bit, but Muriqi fights back. Tarver may have tired himself hes slowed. Muriqi keeps the round close being scrappy on the inside ,Muriqi is survivng with little or no jab which is pretty impressive. Even round
99-95 Tarver it could be closer in those even round could g either way.

Round 11 Tarver is pressing again to start same as last round, and muriqi comes pressing back. Tarver throws a punc missing and doing a 360 lol . Tarver is puttin a few combos together but they are both running on e.
Tarver by the burst at the beginning.10-9
    109-104 Tarver
Muriqi needs a KO on my card
    Round 12

Muriqi is fighting like a warrior and is trying to make abrawl here. Tarver wont let him and trys to take defensive route. Hes in ortho starts to bomb back at Muriqi. Even output Tarver lands cleaner Muriqi raises his hand 7 secs before the bell...if i was Tarver i would have pressed, but he just coast to the bell. Tarver 10-9
119-113 Tarver alot better fight than the scorecard. Muriqi just didnt have enought pop in his shots, I think Tarver gets the UD, the official score........Majority Decison Tarver
One judge had the fight a draw.

Tarver looked like crap. he looked very slow and sloppy, started to run out of gas around the 9th and 10th round. he won maybe 7 or 8 rounds but was sooo damn unimpressive.imo.

Traver looked like a club fighter and he should have at the very least gave his the guy credit. He is not ready for a class A fighter at this time. Elvir came about 50 punches shot of a win. If I would have seen these 2 fight n the street not knowing who they were I know I would say they both got hit many times and it was a good fight. But since we know Tarver and what he was he is not even close to a A fighter if Elvir is a B+

I thought Tarver looked so-so tonight. He had flashes were he looked like his old self, but there moments were he looked... old.

I understand that he was fighting a lesser guy but maybe Muriqi is not as average as some thought he was. We'll see the truth soon enough.

I never liked old pea-head anyway and think he has zippy chance of beating Dawson, who I don't care for too much either. I'm not down with the lanksters.

Something about Dawson reminds me of Snoop.

All I know is that the crowd was booing Tarver, and he thought he was gonna be gettin cheered because he looked surprised when the boo's came Tarver looked ok for having had a year off. His shots lacked real power tho. I liked when he switched his stance but it didnt really help him. I think he should improve off this.

I am not sure he should. The Tarver fights were good but at this point Roy should fight someone else.
