    Default North American Sports Networkq

Okay folks, In reality this has very little to do with boxing, but I guess the important thing is that I just subscribed to NASN as part of the Setanta sports package (for the Ricky Hatton fight), and I must admit I have no idea how this baseball thing works. Ok it looks great when you smack the ball for about 500 miles, but what about the rest of the time? How can it be such a slow sport, when it's pretty much just cricket? Roll on the basketball bro

Baseball over here is the most historically locked sport second to or possibly even tied with boxing. Almost every kid in america has played baseball at one point or another in their life and i've only just recently been interested in actually watching it on tv just as i have basketball.

Ok, so when a friend of mine came back from the states, I asked her to bring me a softball and a softball bat. Mainly i wanted the bat so I can beat the shit out of any punk that wants to break into my house, but I'd also like to know how the whole thing works. I get the whole thing about catching a ball that's been hit in the air, and abot getting people out on the bases, but the batting is what I don't really understand.

You have to realize at the pro level hitting a baseball is damn near impossible. The top end pitchers can throw it in excess of 100mph and its only 60 feet between the pitchers mound and home plate if im not mistaken. You only have a fraction of a second to decide if you wanna swing at that pitch and even then its hard to connect with the ball. I'm not sure what you don't understand about it
