Default DiBella: My pride in Paulie

Have to be honest - I thought Paulie was all talk but he showed real guts against Cotto and Ndou. He might be around for a long time.

Lou DiBella, Paulie Malignaggi's promoter, recalls the new IBF world champ wandering into his office after becoing the 2001 US amateur champ.
``He' had 40 or 50 amateur fights, and he said, ‘I'm going to be a world champion some day,' and he is. And he did it the right way, with a brilliant boxing performance. I'm incredibly proud of him and I think he's more than just a regular fighter. I think he is an elite fighter. I think Paulie Malignaggi is a future superstar."

Im happy for the guy. I met him at one of his early fihts and hes a really a nice guy. And hes a flashy fighter but he doesnt disrespect his opponents outside the ring or in it. He can be an elite fighter if he stays at Lt. Welterweight.
