    Default Bernard

Bernard Manning died this week, Im sad I sightly new Bernard and he always said Hello when we met. He worked at my club 4 times in the 70s, he was not a bigot or racial he had freinds from all races. Bernard was a comedian and a good one, he was also a Boxing fan. I ran a show to raise money for an Amatuer Boxing Club so they could get a new ring, Bernard did the show on a Friday night brought the house down for 2 hours. I went to pay him after, He asked what the show was for I explained it was for the gym for local kids. Immediatly he gave me back the money and said put that towards it. Bernard was class, Ive been told He did that a lot .

What annoyed me was the 1 minute coverage on his death wich ended with 'A man who many critics thought to be a Rasicst and a Chauvinist'.

    I agree

I heard many stories of his generosity.

One from the 70s when he stopped on motorway where a group of guys had broken down in their car. He got them in his Rolls Royce and dropped them all off on their door steps mailes away.

One of the guys was in the audience when Bernard appeared on the Mrs Merton show a few years back - he asked Bernard if he remembered it which he did.

I'd never heard of him before, but after reading a little about him he sounds like a classy guy, if misunderstood. Goddamn political correctedness makes me ill.

I was fucking Gutted when i heard he died !

Unfortunately for MEEEE i was watching BBC 1 and the 1st words outa his the newsreaders mouth was ' The Controversial ' ....aaaaarrrrrgh !

Makes me fucking sick all this PC and positive discrimination it's driving the country down !

Bernard Manning was a fucking Legend a true fucking Riot somebody who knew his own mind a bit like Chris Eubank he said what he thought and not what you wanted to hear !

Loved it on the Mrs Merton show when that talentless pompess cunt Richard Wilson ( Victor Meldrew) came on and tried to hold his own with Big Bernard and got ripped to bits.

What you don't actually realise with alot of Celebritys and supposed funnymen just how contrived and up their own arse they are and although i didnt know him personally i'd say thats the last thing he was .

Bernard Manning - champion of Freedom of Speech an innovator and a truly Great Englishman !

Hope he's up there taking the piss outa Peters Toga and telling Jesus to get some proper Shoes !
