Default I applaud Forrest and Baldomir....

OK Most of us including myself bashed the thought of last nights card....We expected a dreadful affair with no action...Some of us even thought both guys were shot and unable to give us a good fight...

( for those who try and deny their thoughts remember there is a thread about the card)...

But MAN did Forrest and Baldomir FIGHT!!!!!!.I felt bad for Baldo he just did not have the speed to catch Vernon but he stood in there and WHAT A F'IN CHIN MAN!!!!!.....His wiskers are steele coated....

Forrest looked great even if it was against a slower Baldo but he seemed to have his timing and rythm back....A big improvement from the gift he recieved in the Quartey fight IMO...

Those two deserve an for helping keep the tradition of 2007 and top caliber fights alive...Who agrees with me on this one?

It sounded like a bad matchup to me, guess I was wrong, am downloading it now.

Was it a close fight? I'm still trying to figure out how this could have been a good fight

I agree with you Daxx. I felt bad for Baldomir also and thought he was shot before PBF embarassed him. Though that dude can take a lickin' and keep on tickin' as they say. He needs to hang up the gloves, but it was a good, though 1 sided, fight. I could have done without the encore Hopkins/Wright bore-fest again, and would rather have watched the undercards, but you can't always get what you want.

it's hard to belive it was a good fight but it had solid action. the boxer against the brawler. both fighters look great. neither guy had anything to be ashamed of.

I think it was more a great performance from Vernon than a great fight, but i suppose it takes a good fighter to bring out a great performance in another.. Baldo was generally outclassed, but he is just so goddamn tough, his chin is unbelievable he walks through everything. Forrest was hitting him with everything in the book timing his shots very well, showed great footwork and movement in general. I thouroughly enjoyed watching it and definetly would like to see Vernon in some top matchups soon, he looked extremely dangerous last night, if he was fighting someone who didn't have an anvil for a head, in fact perhaps any other fighter currently campaigning at 154 I think he would have stopped them.

i think what made the fight good was the fact that are expectations were so low. the only reason i even watched fight was so i could get on here and talk about it. i was one of the main people saying that the fight was a waste of time. both guys did what they do best. badamir came forward and vernon boxed.

I think you will appreciate it Wacko....Good fight from two tough veterans of the sport....Baldo was slow as usual but showed courage...Forrest showed some ability is still left in the tank...He would have stopped almost anyone else in the division with the bombs he landed....Good fight from two guys who always come to do their best

Ironic that the Forrest-Baldomir fight would be seen on HBO for free, after a replay of the Hopkins-Wright fight which had been on PPV last week.

Ironic because the Forrest-Baldomir fight was 10 times as good and entertaining as the other piece of sh*t fight.

Hmm... it seems I may have offended a secretly vindictive, overly sensitive B-Hop fan.

If it will make you feel any better (or worse, as the case may be), it was totally Hopkins' fault that the fight was as bad as it was. His grabbing and headbutting tactics should've gotten him: first a warning, then a point deduction, then a f___ing DQ, if that's what it took. Winky, to his credit, was swinging away the whole fight, even after Hopkins battered him with that hard head of his.

I haven't seen it yet either. I'm awaiting Sky to show it this Friday though. I actually was ok with the fight happening. Glad to hear they put on a show. Shame Baldo's retiring, but I guess it's good for him that he's gone out with his head held high, and he can be proud of what he's given to the sport.
