    Tito: Winky will beat Hopkins
Jermain: "It's a toss up fight!"
Taylor confirms Sept 29th against Kelly Pavlik
WBC/WBO middleweight champion Jermain Taylor and comebacking ring legend Felix Trinidad both commented Monday on Saturday's PPV clash between Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright in Las Vegas. Both fighters spoke from experience. Taylor won two close decision against Hopkins and has a draw with Wright. Trinidad was stopped by Hopkins and outpointed by Wright. "I feel like Winky is going to bring his A game and Hopkins going to bring his A game," said Taylor. "It's going to be a great fight and I don't know who going to win, so I'm telling you right now it's a toss up fight." Trinidad was brief and very clear on his prediction. "I think Winky will beat Bernard Hopkins next Saturday," he stated, adding that although he lost to both fighters, and "this is not an excuse, but I feel sad that it wasn't the "real Tito" in the ring for those fights. That is part of the reason I am now coming back and I would love to have rematches with both guys, he commented"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taylor confirmed that his proposed September 29 fight with Kelly Pavlik will be his last at 160lbs and he will be training for that fight in the Poconos. Trinidad said he is not 100% sure who he will face and a possibile fight with Roy Jones Jr. "looks good." He continued, "I am really committed. Whoever the opponent is I'm going to beat him."

I loved Hopkin's take on Trindidad's involvment with Winky.

'If I was beating you up in a street fight, why would you go run off and find a guy who I had already beat up and ask him to help you fight me?'

Tito's a damn good fighter but his pick doesn't hold more water that yours or mine. Both of them beat him & Hop knocked him out. He's obviously friendly with Winky, as he is with ODH (who he picked to beat PBF).

It's a good match up but Tito is just stickin by his peeps. Maybe deep down he really beleives what he's saying. Maybe not. Only Tito knows the answer.

In the back of any true fighters mind he will always want to give a L to a guy that gave him one. Love him or hate him, Tito is a warrior.

Not that these fights would make any sense in the boxing world considering how the first ones went down.

First of all, all Tito Trinidad knows about Winky Wright and The Executioner is that they both whipped that ass really bad. And when Bernard Hopkins systematically broke him down and destroyed him, that was the "real Tito", i dont give a shit what Felix says. I see Hopkins winning the fight against Twinky Wright, being the bigger man at 170. Especially if he comes in like he did with Tarver; he looked pretty strong, definitely strong enough to put some heat on a smaller dude like Ronald.

Jermaine Taylor should have gotten the decision over Winky Wright just because Wright acted like a spoiled brat afterwards. The draw was legit. Wink coulda had it, but he didnt do shit for the last two or three rounds. I think the weight JT has been having trouble making could hurt him in a 160 lb fight against Kelly Pavlik. He should try to get it done at Super Middle. Should be a great fight though. Pavlik will bring it for sure so Taylor better be ready to fight a lot harder than he had to against Corey Spinks, who may be the most boring fighter alive.

Trinidad will get beat up if he tries to come back against Roy Jones, he was always pretty one-dimensional and these days it's just that much worse. Jones still has a lotta tricks and can box far well enough to run circles around the old, fat Tito Trinidad. That's my two cents on that...

    Bwaaaaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha ha!!!

Holy shit, man!!! Tito just made himself & his comeback look a whooooooole lot sillier than it actually is.

Why doesn't he just man up & state that he can't do shit against real boxers. Anyone with technical skills & a defense makes Trinidad look silly. Not an excuse. He was at his best when he faced Hopkins & Hopkins schooled him.

I hate to hear shit like that.

Its funny he sais that. I know people, like my brother among others, who still insist to this day that that fight was fixed. That Tito didn't fight his fight. Where was the right hand? bla bla bla bla.

I am not one of those poeple....but I still think Tito could make some big noise at 160, if he can still make that weight....this is a big if. He is currently at 200lb acording to an article I read yesterday.

And I hate to see hopkiins fight dirty every fight. He's a bum!!!! When JT showed him he wasn't gonna stand for the bull and did it back, he took his heart. The only time he was brave enough to try to fight Taylor was in the later rounds when he was tired.

Oh yeah...wow...Taylor's really proven himself since the Hopkins fights right?

I know your'e a Trinidad fan...because you always fall back on the "Hopkins fights dirty" excuse...but you know that Tito sounded like a chump when he made up those wack ass excuses!

    Just admit it.

Hopkins a dirty fighter? You make it sound like he illegally wraps his hands before a fight to make his punches harder.

I wouldn't say Trinidad was at his best when he fought Hopkins he was two weight classes above arguably his best weight. Age and health wise yes, he was at his best but he looked small next to Hopkins. I'm pretty sure if Hopkins in his prime ever moved up looking for bigger fights he would have run into a few losses of his own. You can't blame Tito for losing to 2 of the best fighters of this era, and taking on the hardest road to the top. I can blame him for making excuses though. It's taken me years to shake the denial, but I think I'm making progress.

P.S. I still think the Winky fight was fixed. J/K

This I feel is a very difficult fight to call.

I have ALWAYS felt that at 160 Winky would really school the hell out of Hopkins but the jump in weight makes me stop to think about it again.

Bernard is very old and although he looked GREAT vs Tarver, Antonio ain't all that young either AND he just came off filming a movie which matters.

I am going to side with Winky on this one because he's younger, it'll be a chess match and Bernard doesn't throw enough to earn a decision but he does have the power and maybe Winky won't take it too well
