Default What happens to Floyds and Hattons leagacy if Hatton wins?

Apologies if this post has already been done but what happens to Floyds legacy if Hatton beats him? Most people I have read say Floyd will win whilst there are a lot of haters who think who want Hatton to win.

Lets start with considerations for PBF
Will a loss mean that PBF does not deserve to be in the HOF?
Will a loss mean that PBF should carry on figthing to secure his legacy?
Would he deserve to lose credit for fighting dominent champions in each weight class he has been in bar 140?

    As for Hatton...
Does it mean Hatton is p4p number 1 considering he only would have been around 140 and 147 having only faced 2 p4p top 10's
Will Hatton be number 1 p4p UK fighter
Will Hatton be the best Brit ever
Would Hatton have secured a place in the HOF?

    Just food for thought.

What do you guys (and gals) reckon?

Pretty much agree with the bulk of this. Good post.

    Ok, your questions about Floyd:

    1) Hell no a loss wouldn't mean Floyd wouldn't get into the Hall of Fame. If he lost and retired he'd still make the hall easy.
2)I suspect he'd want to come back if he lost but I don't think he'd necessarily have too.
3)I don't totally understand the third question. Do you mean should PBF get S*** on for fighting dominant champions in each weight class except 140. I don't see why of course I'm not sure if he really has fought "dominant champions" in each class but he's definitely fought some good to great ones.

    And Hatton:
1)You could make a case, he's already in the top ten and a win over PBF would mean a win over the recognized best fighter in the world, a guy with almost god status in some people's eyes. Of course you could pick his record apart if you wanted. I thought the win over KT was a good win and don't buy into the S*** about KT being shot, nobody was saying that beforehand. On the other hand Castillo I think was a bit shot.

2)I would assume so. Some people might still list Calzaghe although Hatton would have the better wins.
3)I don't know, some people might still say a guy like Jimmy Wilde but I don't really try to comment much on guys who I've never seen.
4)Yes. I mean besides the obvious "if Barry McGuigan..." comments, he probably would have deserved it. I guess his career could go totally wrong after that though.

i actually want floyd to lose so that he will fight mosley for his legacy...i really think he's retiring to protect his record...a loss to hatton is more damaging than a loss to shane..so if the planets line up and he loses to hatton..it going to look extremely bad on his record and he will be forced to continue to fight...but if he wins and shane wins then that will generate the money that might him get into the ring with shane..or cotto for that matter
